3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, USA - DEC 19, 2008
Tap at Barcade: Pours a hazy golden with a dense white ring of head. The aroma encompasses dry Belgian pale malts- bread crust qualities, citrus notes from both American hops and mild esters, and a light tartness overall. The mouthfeel is crisp and light. Fairly clean in the flavor- not as estery as many Belgian-style ales. Lightly zesty with a lemon touch, a very succinct vanilla touch in the back, and dry biscuity Belgian pale malts are present throughout. Very drinkable and solid, just simple.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011

Moderately clear pour, pale body with a small white head. The aroma is herbal hops, flowers, and some light cookie dough. The taste is slightly sweet, moderately bitter, some fresh herbs, some floral notes, lots of cotton candy, slightly vinous. Medium/full body is rough with a lasting, sticky, vegetal bitterness.

(Old BA rate - tap)
Light orange/yellow gold. Poured with a thinner white head that held pretty well. Citruisy, spicey, get some cloves and malt sweetness. Spices show up first, but fairly light; lemon sherbet; and pretty sweet. Lighter, slightly sticky, and spritzy carbonation. Nicely drinkable, and pleasant. Alcohol warmth provides a soothing character to the brew. Overall, pretty aligned with what I would expect for the style, and a nicely done brew.

Cloudy golden pour with a medium white head. Aroma of fruity esters, bubble-gum and some funk. Good flavor of bubble-gum, fruits and hops. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and lively carbonation. Allagash and De Struise are great brewers, this is very enjoyable.

On draft at Capones. Pours a clear gold colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of pine, honey, citrus, and floral hops. Flavour is the same as the aroma but rather weak. Also, there is a yeasty flavour present in addition to the pine, citrus, honey and hops. Average, at best.

One of my favorites from Allagash. Had it on tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a nice, hazy gold with a medium head. Nose of sweet malts and some wild yeast. Flavor was very sweet, with strong notes of honey and yeast. Smooth on the finish with a pleasant warming sensation from the ABV. Really good.

Tap at blind tiger. Poured a cloudy golden amber with a thin head. Light nose with some Belgian yeast. Nice spicy and extremely drinkable. Honey and hop notes lead the front. Delicious sweet and malty finish with no hint of the 8.2 abv. Dangerously sessionable.
