Poured the color of a ripe apricot, almost glowing. Aroma is yeasty, peppery, touch of mint. Flavor is slightly sweet, with an interesting sour dough component. There is a bit of an alcohol burn on the finish.

2nd August 2009 Hazy amber beer. Dry frothy palate. Immediate vegetable spice that dominates the creamy malt. A bit like ginger but it’s not ginger! Frothy in the mouth, it finishes dry with some warmth. As so often with Allagash - interesting but not quite inspiring.

Pour big thanks to Aaron for the pour. Hazy orange with white head, aroma has notes of flowers, pear, some toffee, biscuit, hints of some slight spice and peach notes. Taste is nice flowers, hints of biscuit, toffee, some pear, peach, hints of spice. Nice brew, all the parts work fairly well!

Bottle @ home, courtesy of Glouglouburp. Thanks so much, Dany! Cloudy, a touch reddish, orange appearance with a pretty good sized, cream colored head. Floral, tea, herbal hoppy, orange citrusy, Belgian yeasty aroma. Tangy orange citrusy, floral, herbal hoppy, dry, somewhat spicy, Belgian yeasty flavor. Pretty tasty beer that’s actually held up quite well. Thanks again Dany!

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden almost orange color with a large off white head that was mostly lasting. The aroma was sweet bready malts, hints of yeast, fruity and floral with a peppery spiciness. The flavor
had quite a bit going on with sweet bready malts, fruity notes, floral (I can only imagine this is the yarrow), hints of alcohol and peppery spices. Good creamy mouthfeel with good carbonation. From notes.

Draft at Teresa’s. Pours honey hazy golden with a thick, pillowy head. Aroma of ginger, barley, fig, raisins, vanilla, and hops. Medium bodied with a very curiously mellow, soft palate. Perhaps the aging calmed the carbonation and bite of this brew. Overall an excellent Belgian strong. Especially well executed blonde Belgian.

Pouring at session one of EBF in Boston. Pours a hazy gold with a thin white head. Light funk, fruity wood. Medium bodied and decidedly herbal and medicinal. Sweet, with a dry crisp finish.

750ml bottle. Poured a cloudy golden amber color with a three finger frothy white head and minimal lacing. Smells very sweet and malty with a pleasant spiciness. Fairly sweet tasting, the malt upfront but the spice of the beer soon overtakes the entire mouth and leaves some sourness at the end, strong crisp taste throughout with a good amount of carbonation. A very well-crafted beer.

From notes. Orange/gold, small white head. Musty yeast, vanilla, lightly spicy rye, malt sweetness. Any barrel time? Tastes like it. Medium body, balanced, easy. Decent brew, a bit muted, unique.

750 ml bottle at Kens- shared by stine I think. Pours a deep bright copper with a lasting white fluffy head. Aroma is quite herbal, almost grassy and soapy, decent crackery fresh malts, grainy- wheat rye and earthy- slight leather- fragrant floral hops/spices. Flavor is a bit soapy as well from the spices and herbs, toasted malts, cereal grains, earthiness, bubblegum phenolics, belgian yeast and a doughy creamy wheat character. Finish is somewhat smooth with a slight herbal bitterness. Good.

750 ml bottle - almsot two years old now as I picked this up at bottleworks and didn’t look to closely; assumed it was the current version, but the yarrow is what peaked my interest; poured reddish orange with faint carbonation and thin white head; spice, sweet fruit and tons of yeasty goodness; lavender, wild flowers and almost wood-ish hints; quite intoxicating in a medicinal kind of way; medium body and just a lovely sweet and wild flower fell; honey, lavender with mild syrupy texture; apples and maybe some juniper too; just a delightful beer all around; by the end I’m getting vanilla, oak and toasty notes; a very unique mix of spice, flowers and yeast that really surprised me and inspired me to brew my own yarrow belgian beer; wow, an amazing brew!!!!
