4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured cloudy yellow with a rocky white head that exploded out of the glass. Good lacing. Spicy sweet aroma packed with ginger, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, etc. Lemon zest and sweet yeast esters as well. Carbonated, but still heavy in the mouthfeel. The taste is outstanding. Pleasant yeast/banana flavors with orange and lemon zest blended with the lighter malt. Different spice combinations seemed to hit you, similar but never the same. A sweet honey and wheat finish that lingers. And have to agree with JohnGalt1, chamomile is present as well, or at least the spice combination resembles it. Loved it.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a hazy amber with not a whole lot of head. The ginger aroma is very evident right off the bat; reminds me of dark ín stormies. The problem with me (maybe just me) is that I drink a fair share of dark ín stormies & I donít really think that the combination of heavy ginger with the taste of a traditional Belgian strong ale goes very well. It does even out after a few sips, but itís just not for me. Finishes clean, & very well done, & an interesting beer, nonetheless.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma is spicy, wheaty, medium sweet. Pretty light golden body, thick white head. Flavorful wheat blend, spicy without the notorious Allagash tendency toward over-sweetness. This is my favorite of Allagashís offerings so far.

3.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: APR 25, 2009 Oddly enough, at first whiff this hazy white beer smells almost chronically hoppy with a nice dose of coriander. The aroma is a real adventure as this beer breathes and warms up. Next it moves onto smelling like the perfect ginger bread house, and then medicinal like a honey ginger cough drop. All along the taste follows suit, although in a slightly muted way. This was a very interesting beer, mostly because of the aroma. The heavy-handed spicing became quite un-bearable as it warmed, which was unfortunate.
