On draft at Capones. Pours a beautiful clear amber vistalite with a medium white head. Aroma of candied ginger, cloves, orange peel, and other light spices. Taste of orange peel, light ginger, candied sugar and cloves.

What’s a double white? I never heard of a double white. Sort of like an Imperial Lite? Anyway, works better than it sounds. Good wheaty and gingery nose, great wheaty lacing. Fruity, peppery, clovey, and, of course, gingery taste. Served with dessert, which seemed like a very good idea at the time.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy bright yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of ginger and wheat with a slightly peppery yeast and some nice fruity ester. Taste is very refreshing with loads of ginger and wheat with some very nice fruity ester. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation with no signs of alcohol. Very well done with great refreshing taste but some real complexity.

On tap at Capones. Poured a medium and hazy golden color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, spices (ginger, cloves, and corriander), and yeast. Tastesd of citrus, spices, some yeastiness.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a lightly hazy gold with a lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of wheat, orange zest, coriander, allspice, ginger and light yeast. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, teast, orange zest, ginger and coriuander with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

750mL bottle, from Capone’s (Norristown, PA). Pours hazy golden, capped with a large ivory head. Sharp, spicy aroma, with lots of ginger, coriander, white pepper, herbs wheat and yeast. Flavor is well balanced and nuanced, with ginger and apricot melding very nicely, backed up with coriander, yeast and tropical fruit. Finishes with spice, wheat and tropical fruit. Nice effort from Allagash.

On tap at Stone. Hazy amber color, with a bright white head that reduced to thick lace. A hint of sourness on the nose, with vinegar and ginger. Yummy taste. Belgian yeasties are hiding in the flavor, along with a hoppiness. Creamy. A salivator for sure, and I like that sensation. It has a bitter crunchy finish. Very good.

75cl bottle. Thanks to Thewolf. Pours hazy orange with a full white foam and lacings. Yeast & orange fruits dominates the aroma. Smooth and full bodied. Well balanced. Taste is brett, orange, citrus, yeast and herbs. Nice!

Pours straw-yellow with a slight haze. A small, creamy, white head. Aroma has brett, oranges, lots of ginger and wheaty malts. Light carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, apples abound with dry brett notes. A bit of oranges and a lot of ginger. Very fresh and drinkable.

Strong banana and clove, ginger, rosemary aromas. Pours a coudy rich golden color with a thick white head. Sweet wheat flavors with candied ginger, sweet citrus and herbs, rosemary, and hints of mint. This is a great double white!
