Without a doubt, this is best, true to style, American brewed BdG I’ve had. Very soft and well conditioned with light honey and pear, slightly dusty yeast and a touch of crisp malt on the finish. Very nice.

On tap at Max’s, Baltimore. Thanks, Ed! Always a treat to try the latest Fluxus (though I haven’t always been diligent about it). This one was quite good, a bit bigger and bolder than a lot of the to-style bready BdeGs I’ve enjoyed in the past. Deep copper pour with a prickly, sticky head. Tons of retention around the glass and lacing everywhere. Fairly assertive nose with tons of raw yeasty notes, spice, and a healthy dose of bittering hops too. Dry vinous notes to taste, making for an interesting and welcome contrast subtly present throughout the beer (and making it more interesting than conventional entries in the style to me). Well rounded, balanced, but also enjoyably quirky.
