3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a rich golden color with a big frothy two finger foam. Lots of peppercorn, belgian spice and phenols in this one. Taste just like I assumed it would just a bit to spicy of a saison style for me. Nice mouthfeel and execution just a bit heavy on the earthy spice from both the spelt and peppercorns.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into an allagash like chalice glass.
A: Looks interesting. Hazy golden dandellion color. Thick white head.
S: Smells interesting as well. Musty. Earthy. Tangy. Hint of citrus. lemon. orange.
T: Tastes better than I expected. Earthy. Spicy. It really tastes like a saison... probably on account of the peppercorns. Finish is piney.
P; Very smooth on the palate. Carbonation is smooth and the beer has a great flavor development.
Overall this is a pretty solid beer. very interesting in flavor. Not sure if I’d get it again but that just my preference.

Bottle from canals. Good beer for the style, but not my cup of tea. Allagash is top notch though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
on tap at Duckworths (NC)
Pour is golden, lightly hazy, with a moderate size off-white head that is exceptionally durable and leaves fine lacing.
Clear Belgian yeasty note in both tasting and the aroma. After a minute of adjustment to the initially unpleasant but limited Brett.
M: very smooth with ample soft carbonation.
O: American version of this Belgian style that exaggerates the Belgian features. I found this slightly challenging.
