Smells like a saison, lot of all spice. Very complex beer, has a lot of spice in the taste and something prominent that I’m unsure of what it is. This is my first beer of this style.

Bottle, 750ml, at Novare Res, Portland, Maine. An unclear yellow-orange beer with a dense light beige head. The aroma is lightly oxidized, vinous and quite fruity, with a nice peppery touch, peaches, some lemon hints, cellar, white wine grapes and some barnyard hints. It’s full bodied, lightly warming, soft and dry, with flavors of peppery yeast, peaches, generic fruityness, cellar and funk notes and some sweetish maltyness. Decent bitterness too. Lasting fruity and yeast funky finish with a peppery touch. A true beauty. 150609

Bottle 750ml @ Novare Res Bier Café, Portland, ME
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, dried fruits, light oxidization, yeast, funk, vinous and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with along malty, vinous, dried fruity, yeasty, slightly funky, floral and hint of pepper. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours darker golden with an off white head. Aroma brings sweet floral and herbal Belgian like yeast. Flavor brings slightly aged yeast then big sweet herbal notes, a bit of spice bit from the peppercorn takes a bit to show up on the palate, but it is there even 2 years later.

ROGUE (2152) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JAN 27, 2015
750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a big frothy white head that fades very slowly. Aroma of sweet grain and bready malts, Belgian yeast, coriander, peppercorns, farmhouse funk, and lemon zest. Taste follows the aroma with a sweetness on the finish. There is a mild yeast and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. Slightly dry finish, lower level of carbonation, crisp and medium bodied.

Clear golden color, good creamy off-white head. Fruity, apricot, Belgian yeasty aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish tripel - fruity (grapefruit, apple) flavor with some earthy notes. Ok American-Belgian.

(Rating #5143)

750ml bottle. Light floaties, good sized white head, orange colour, lots of carbo. Citrus and pepper corn (but not black pepper) aroma, not especially strong. Spice in the back of the taste with the flavour but not the burn, the experience builds with each mouthful. The peppercorn taste lingers Thick, dray and creamy body. Maybe not an everyday beer, but fun as a unique bottle. Not as accessible as the Route des Épices. Would go nicely with stake.
