Pours light brown with a thick slightly off white head. The head has the thickness of well beaten eggs. Tremendous legs but disappears quickly. Smells of apricots and spices. Touch of alcohol as well. My first thought is complex. It took a second tip to get my head around it. Carmel and maple syrup hit me first then malt and citrus. Warming alcohol at the end. The carbonation is just right with a thick pour over the tongue. A little sweeter than I would have liked, but very complex and interesting.

On cask @ Pizza Plant Walker. Pours amber brownish color. Aroma consists of malty sweetness, caramel, sugar, dried fruits particularly raisins & booze. Pretty complex taste of dried fruits, caramel malts, raisins & boozy warmth. Nice fuller mouthfeel. Good beer

Corked bottle. Orange brown color. Plums, flowers, lemon, caramel and a hint of maple syrup in the both complex and strong aroma. Very sweet, sugary but also malty flavor with maple syrup, caramel, plums, sweet grapes, citrus, licorice and warming alcohol. The complexity is there, but this beer is really a bit too sweet.

The color was amber. The head was fizzy and off-white. The aroma was hoppy and sweet. The flavor was sweet, alcohol, and spice. The palate was lively. The finish was warm and waxy/bitter.

Dark, deep red color with a huge foamy white head. Malty - Raisins, figs, and brown sugar taste. Heavy on the palate and heavy finish. Great quad.

Nice dark red color with a white head leaving some lacing. I’ve seen plenty of others out perform this one, but it still looks nice. Yeast, candi sugar, and dark fruits, with a bit of an alcohol sting in the nose. Yeast is the first thing you taste, but followed quickly by the fruits and then an alcohol warmth. Alcohol is not hidden, but not overpowering. Taste seems to become a bit cloyingly sweet after a while. Lower carbonation, medium bodied. Pretty good, on occasion.

Popped the bottle and then walked away for a good 15 to 20 minuites to get this one down to room temperature from cellar temperature. Opened up nicely, dried fruits on the nose, some apricots, and a bit of honey migling with lots of sweet maltiness. Switches to darker fruits on the palate, with some sweet candi sugar, but never getting over the top, bready maltiness, a bit of nuttiness as well and full but still remaining gentle carbonation. Nicely done

Poured from a 750ml bottle at a restaurant in Brunswick, ME, at a surprising very good price - not that that should matter. It pored an amber brown with a small but nice looking head. The head went down quickly after the pour. It was malty on first taste but it was also cold and that seemed to be masking some the real flavor. As the drinking went on the wonderful bouquette and flavor came through. I picked up raisin, some mild nut, and lots of yeast and malt. It really just kept getting better, and better and better. Wonderful beer. I was fully impressed by the end of the experience. Everyone has a different palate but I don’t get some of the threes I am reading here.
