Opened with a vigorous pop and dispensed a brilliantly clear ruby brown body under a thick off-white head that leaves beautiful sheets of lace as it falls. Caramel and dried fruit aroma. Smooth and full with a overall sweetness that avoids being cloying. Very nice brew although not a deeply complex one.

Engaging aroma, full of sweet malt and doughy, estery yeast with notes of turbinado sugar, banana, pineapple, tangerine, plum, clove, coriander, anise and faint, peppery alcohol. Highly attractive deep, cloudy garnet color, topped with a lasting, voluminous, frothy off-white head and abundant lacing. Flavor profile is similarly intriguing, beginning with a burst of lightly tart tropical fruitiness, turning spicy and toasty with a long, sweet, toffeeish and mildly grainy finish that eventually gives way to hints of milk chocolate. Downy soft, effervescent palate with a deceptively full body. Balance and complexity are both impressive in their depth. I found it reminiscent of Unibroue’s La Terrible, which I also very much enjoyed.

This is one of the best beers I’ve had to date. Picked up a bottle from Bev Mo La Mesa. Pours a nice brown color with a small off white head that bailed quikly. Taste of bread, toffee, chocolate, with some spices as well. Cant wait to get another bottle!!

On tap at Uber. Pours cloudy dark copper with a dense and lacy beige head. Full body minimal carbonation. Sweet nutty brown sugar and malt taste with a fairly assertive finish for a quad. Smooth, balanced and rather nice for an American quad.

poured a hazed cranberry-laced and lightly muddy amber color with shreaks of orange and red bleeding through..a head of small bubbles rose tall...an unsubtle aroma of pear, papaya, green raisin, dried pineapple, white pepper, coconut, and cloves flowed through the air like the salmon of Capistrano...malty introduction to a caramelized fruit salad of pears, apples, and sugarplums..firm belgian yeast notes.. waves of sweetness cut short by solid bitterness...gaseous carbination...heated alcohol..dried fruit aftertaste..quite nice.

Bottle: Amber color, small head, but decent retention. Sweet aroma, touch of alcohol. Flavor has some dark fruits and some sweetness, a bit yeasty. It was enjoyable.
