COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A unique new beer from Allagash, Allagash Four; a one-of-a-kind ale made from four malts, four varieties of hops, four natural sugars, and it's fermented – that's right – four times!

This one was pretty cool. Wasnt exactally what I was expecting and stuff but it was still fun to drink. Copper amber with a white medium lasting head. Malty and overall pretty good.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a huge beige foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of sweet malt, cookie dough with some alcohol hint is pretty interesting but I could have done without the alcohol hint. Taste is a bit sweeter then expected with lots of cookie dough and some dry raisins. I would have loved for this beer to have more attenuated sugars and a fruitier aroma à la Rocherfort 10 (I can’t really have an ABT without comparing it to the best). Body is above average but could have been more full and alcohol could be more hidden. Very interesting beer from Allagash but cannot honestly say that it compared to the world bests.

(bottle - 750 ml) Clear ruby/copper red pour with a small fizzy head and some hanging sediment. Heavy and malty aroma with hints of plums, raisins and alcohol. Very sweet and malty flavor at the front with loads of plums and other dark fruits with yeast and alcohol, then going to a smooth and malty middle and a very warming and alcoholy finish. Very thick and chewy.

Spicey, malty aroma. Very nice cloudy cooper color with a dense, slightly off-white head. The flavor has a hint of orange, and perhaps some candy sugar. It starts sweet and mellows as passes through the mouth, leaving a slightly bitter aftertaste. The mouthfeel is somewhat sticky. I should have shared this...

Light hazy deep amber colour with a small off white head. Malty, quite complex fruity sweetness with a light alcohol note. Sweet malty flavor with a warming alcohol sweet finish.

750 ml bottle. Pour tawny brown with a large tan head. Leaves some nice lace behind. The nose is a bit rummy with some dark fruit, herb notes, and an alcohol burn. Very nice flavors with some raisin/prune, a bit nutty, syrupy sugar, and some alcoholic notes. Med/full body and lots of carbonation. Long sweetish finish. Pretty damn tasty stuff here.

A dark fruit aroma with spice, clove and fig. There is a great alcohol to residual sugar balance. Flavor contains lots of residual sugar (almost cane-like or crystallized). There is also an orangey fruit flavor with cinnamon and notes of tea with cream. A great beer to lay down. There seems to be a lot of potential for aging but for right now it is a little too sweet for me (even when comparing it against other Quads).

750 thanks to Mike over on BA. Dark brown, small thick head. Nose is spicy, chocolately, malty, and alcoholic. Taste at first is chocolate and mellow malts, then spiciness rounding out in to a very warm alcoholic finish. Body is thick and smooth. Overall a very nice beer.

Light brown. Mild to moderate carbonation. Aroma is cookie dough, alcohol, rum, & raisins. Mouthfeel is moderately full, butr the alcohol thins it at the end. A good quad, but it seems like most of the American quads are kind of muddled. Overall a good beer, but a below average quad. (Rating from Thanksgiving 2006)
