3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ THE fruit sour tasting. Cheers to Ken! The pour’s hazy brown with a tiny off-white head. The nose is raspberry jam, metal, some grapenut breakfast cereal. The taste is jam, light honeyed bread. Slight red berry vinous tang. Nice balance, not overly sweet. Mild funk on the finish. Overall, a solid sour.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to mar. The smell is sour, fruits, wood, funky, and good. The taste is tart, light fruits, wood, and ok. The look is murky, no head, and golden in color.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours an un-noticeable light clear brown with not head or lacing.
The aroma is on the lighter side, the front is mostly sour notes, some light horse blanket. The back side doesn’t have a ton going on a little raspberries a tiny bit of oak.
The taste is very light in taste and feel. It starts off lightly sour then finishes with a ton of oak and alcohol, its a very creamy stick feel.
Overall, ok nothing special for a wild, a lot better than Vagabond.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2011 500ml bottle thanks to pantanap. Whoa! Cork would have killed Nanoslug if the cage hadn’t stopped it. Damn, that was a close call. Pours a brilliant reddish-amber color with a small off-white head leaving nice foam on top. Nice aroma, fairly woody and leathery, with raspberry. A little buttery. The flavor has raspberry, caramel, oak, butter, and a slight herbal note. Tasty but not as amazing as the hype would suggest. Smooth on the mouthfeel with medium body and soft carbonation. Average acidity. A pretty good American wild ale, but not that amazing.

My 200th sour rating. Via trade wanted this to be 3k, but this’ll do. Beautiful orange gold. Nose is sweet tart, very nice. Taste is sweet tart and very nice, yum. Woth the wait.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Courtesy Morgan from the Great Orlando Beer Festival. Thanks for sharing a healthy pour of this rarity. A hazy, dark, burnt-orange amber colored body is crowned with a thin, foamy layer of beige tinted foam. Splotchy, broken arches of lacing mark the glass. The aroma shows dry, pale and caramel malts in the background, with notes of dry, bready yeast, while potent, vanilla laden oak and parching brettanomyces tartness take top billing. Hints of residual sweetness from the dry berries and red grapes comes through, lending a distinctly vinous character. Flavors follow suit, very dry and oaky, brett-driven, and tart, with mild berry and cherry notes. The influence of the wine barrels is up front and apparent, grape-like tannins lending dry, zesty fruit flavors. There’s a hint of Flemish sour within, but the American oak character is prominent. Substantially bodied, dry, and effervescent on the tongue, the palate is near perfect for the style. It drinks considerably easier then the 9.2% ABV would suggest. Great stuff. I’d love to get my hands on some more.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375ml bottle shared by beejay at the first chitown sour tasting... poured a medium amber brown with a thin soapy head... aroma was mostly earthy with a unique and apparent yeastiness along with an odd pervading sense of some chemical vanilla astringency... flavors bettered itself with emphasis on a sour and earthy cherry with a slightly bitter finish. was expecting a little bit more from this one. will need to try again if given the opportunity.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy light brown with a thick white head. Aroma of raspberries, sweet cherry, candi sugar, sweet tart candies. Slight funkiness and tartness, but just in the background. I just want to keep smelling this...Flavor has a bit more tartness and less fruitiness, some wheaty and cookie malt, and a hint of oak. Very drinkable for a sour. Nicely done.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. The aroma is acetic, drain cleaner, honey, and mild fruit. Funky, doughy. Flavor has a nice funkiness, with chewy dough, and some nice, light raspberry. Balanced, not especially sour, with a good body. A broad range of sour flavors, not dominant in any. Slightly effervescent. Lots of oak, wine. Not my favorite ever but a well brewed beer; this took perhaps a bit too much from the wine barrels — subsequent batches should be a bit toned down and better.
