AR (417), Georgia, USA Feb 22, 2008 This beer was similar to a Belgian golden ale, except much more of a malty flavor. It was hearty and filling with a nice mouthfeel. Big head when poured. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Feb 19, 2008 750 ml bottle; nose of yeast, cloves, corriander, caramel, and a tiny funk note; lightly hazed copper with a big off-white head; flavor of peppery spices, caramel, and very, very light tartness. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Feb 17, 2008 Feb. 2007 - Beer poured amber orange, very small head, little lacing. Aroma was fruity and spicey. Flavor was fruity sweet, but much more subdued than your typical Belgian ale...but the change was welcome. Predominant flavors were peaches and pears, with some apple. Just the right amount of spiciness made this not boring, yet amazingly drinkable. Good beer! RomanW70 (297), Providence, Rhode Island, USA Feb 16, 2008 Updated: Mar 12, 2008Trappist Glass. Pours Reddish gold with a small vanishing head. Aroma of clove, citrus, and yeast. Taste is of sweet malts. Slightly bitter finish. Good flavors, but not terribly strong. Fairly dry. Nicely complex beer, but I wish it had a bit more flavor. datebeer (23), brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 16, 2008 This beer is about balance, every character is a compliment of another. It’s cloudy in the glass, but the aromas are unrestricted notes of honey, spice, and roasted pumpkins. The palate is creamy and soft. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Feb 15, 2008 Pours hazy orange-coppery with thick creamy layer of foam that vanishes fast. Smells include bright grapefruit, starfruit, kumquat, and other yellow citrusy fruits. Dryness also immediately apparent in the nose. Some white sherry aromas too. Flavors are fruity and dry together. JP-like character. Some tartness, some dryness, some salt, some acidity, and some champagne-like qualities. Soft, big bursty, lively mouthfeel. Great stuff. rocbyter (902), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA Feb 2, 2008 Updated: Feb 3, 2008Mild malt and strong yeast aroma. Cloudy orange color with a medium thick white head. Mild bitterness in the beginning with a slight amount of bitterness in the finish. Full palate. kapusta (84), Dover, Delaware, USA Feb 2, 2008 Deep golden color with a thick white head. Not really much in the nose, but you can detect some spice and definitely yeast. The cork added to the aroma, don’t know if that was a positive? Dry in the mouth with notes of pear and spice. Better than expected
