RollinHard (750), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Sep 25, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy burnt orange with a lasting white head. Aroma of gingerbread, honey, caramel, vanilla, with some peppery spice and slight yeast funk. As it warms, licorice and burnt sugar (or something) start to appear. Tastes of honey, vanilla, toast, raisins, pears, slight amounts of ginger. Finishes quite earthy with a surprising amount of hop flavor. Slight flourishes of nutmeg and cinnemon, moreso in the finish. Very creamy and slightly slick, medium bodied and totally drinkable. Good! Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2007 Orange/caramel color with lively carbonation. Medium frothy head. Spicey caramel sweetness in the flavor.light biscut flavor. Medium body. Dry peppery finish. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 16, 2007 Cherry/golden with nice head and decent lacing. Oaky, sour qualties characterize this brew, with a healthy dose of fruity hops and funky yeast. This beer has a quality that is similar to those that are aged in oak casks, while still having a lighter(watery) component. A nice brew for sure. cmillward (419), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 13, 2007 I was quite looking forward to this, it was my first Allagash. Gorgeous hazy orange with a small light head. Smelled very nice, oranges, spices, but was sweeter than I would have liked it. Good, I’d like to have again, but will try more of their others first. grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Sep 5, 2007 Pours a hazy orange-amber with a light head. Nice aroma of spices and citrus. Sweet, not much bitterness, quite carbonated. Good stuff. TheJester (694), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 5, 2007 750 mL bottle. Translucent copper-orange-brown with a nice sticky head. Aroma is wet hay, spice (coriander?), and sweet citrus. The taste is sweet. There is a good malt base, but sweet orange makes a strong case for itself, as do spice and alcohol. No hops to speak of. Full bodied and perfectly carbonated. A little sweet, but I like this one. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 10/19/1997

after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 31, 2007 750, corked and caged. I do love these guys, but I honestly can’t remember exactly what--kind of an overall love, rather than a love of a specific coupla beers, I suppose. This is a nice if somewhat underwhelming BSA. Pours very dark brown with a towering white head, crystal clear underneath though. Fruity, sticky nose: red pitted tree fruits, green apples, cotton candy. Medium body, fairly still. More of the same candies and fruits along with some caramel on the mid-palate. Sticky, sugary finish. Ordinarily, you might think my sweet tooth would have me all over this concoction, but it’s a bit much. Maybe cellared? I dunno. Doubt I’d bother, even as well-made as this one is, it’s just too sugary.
