Commercial Description:
Allagash Grand Cru is deep golden in color, and has a firm yet refined malty palate. Taste and aroma have suggestions of smoke and licorice, with subtle hints of fruit and spice. An excellent beer to enjoy during the cooler seasons.

opaque amber hue with a frothy white head, aroma was very malty, mainly sweet with some bread notes. Flavor was overall sweet with fruit and caramel notes, some hops ofset it in the finish.

A 750 ml bottle shared at JK’s Spring Gathering (Hey, when is it my turn to host one?) Pours a cloudy amber brew with a medium off-white head. The lacing was average. Aroma reminded me of Pillsbury cressant dough with some yeast and grapefruit. Taste is smooth with a citrus carameled hop bite. Other flavors picked up were sweet malt, licorice, coriander and a some alcohol. The palate was dry bitterness and then disappeared in the aftertaste.

It’s no Allagash White! It makes Josh ’Hoppy’. Prolly would be good with food, but just sampling in the bar it was a little heavy/strong for my liking. I don’t know maybe I got a bad one seeing how so many others enjoyed!

Cloudy, amber/gold appearance with a medium size, off white head and modest lacing. Yeasty, spicy aroma along with some soft fruitiness. Taste is moderately sweet, malty, spicy, with only a slight acknowledgement of hops. Medium-to-full bodied, affably carbonated mouthfeel. Bitter, peppery, long lasting finish.

750 ml bottle. Pours a murky golden red. Huge head that dissapated quickly. Spices and apple in taste. Very good.

750 ml bottle. Aromas are a bit sour and maybe a touch of skunk. A bit of cherry maybe. Hazy reddish orange with a really nice foamy head that left decent lacing. Flavors were better with a nice maltiness that had some spice to it. Some alcohol flavor as well. Not too bad.

Batch 14. This hazy orange ale poured with a fluffy off-white head, eliciting a malty aroma. There is a sweet fruity malt flavor with some herbal elements and a short bitter hop finish, making for a very pleasant brew.

A nice golden hazy pour. Malty fruity aroma and flavor. Feels nice in the mouth and leaves a really nice aftertaste
