Commercial Description:
Allagash Grand Cru is deep golden in color, and has a firm yet refined malty palate. Taste and aroma have suggestions of smoke and licorice, with subtle hints of fruit and spice. An excellent beer to enjoy during the cooler seasons.

Bottle. Ehh... Nothing that really stood out to me. I read the description ... no smoke, no licorice, subtle fruit, no spice. That being said, a pretty beer with a creamy head. Very palatable and pleasant...just nothing outstanding. Pass.

Batch #9 Bottle shared by mikemac: Light copper color with a white head. Aroma of cloves, all spice and yeast. Flavor, more spices, cloves, yeasty and fruity. Nice lively carbonation, I caught a little heat from the alcohol, but noting overwhelming. Good stuff.

On Tap. Drank this last night, going from memory. Warm orange / amber color with very little thin head. Pleasant, interesting aroma of dried fruit and mild spice. Would not have guessed this is 7.2% abv, as it is a very smooth beer. Will definitely drink this again.

750 ml, batch #7. Poured a murky, orangish brown with a thin white head. Rich spicy and fruity aroma with hints of yeast. Good flavor, lots of complexity, very tasty. Bubbly mouthfeel and a tart finish. Nice brew.
