Commercial Description:
Allagash Grand Cru is deep golden in color, and has a firm yet refined malty palate. Taste and aroma have suggestions of smoke and licorice, with subtle hints of fruit and spice. An excellent beer to enjoy during the cooler seasons.

750 ml bottle. Christmas gift from my sister. Light brown with a rich beige head. Spices, cloves, roasted malts, faint notes of citric fruit. Yeasty and fairly spicy flavour of cinnamon, brown sugar, baked apples, orange-peels with quite dry and yeasty aftertaste, of nuts, bubblegum and banana. Finishes yeasty and orangey with spicy aftertaste of all spice and brown sugar... Nice beer Maria!

Beautiful beer. Long-lasting aftertaste full of buttery-spicey goodness. Allagash has once again made an entirely drinkable yet complex and challenging beer.

Cloudy orange-juice tinged amber pour, with a clean fomay banana colored head. Light sweet malt aroma and a touch of gentle light peach and almond fruitiness. Flavor is a warming light spicy maltness. Touch of banana and pear, lighted with some smooth toothy grain with copious clean sweet sugar. Some bright effervescence and a good deal of lemon. Plenty of candy notes. Palate is a hint parching, but finish with clean sweetness, like a fresh glass of lemonade. Not noting much spice. Drinkable, but not astounding.

Deep red with a thick and lasting white head. Fruity aroma with a hint of coriander. Flavor has sweet apples, tangy oranges, and plenty of spices. Citrus flavor lingers. Very carbonated.

Fresh off my own keg! Poured a nice frothy thick head. The aroma was somewhat sweet but lacked any real strength.A hazy copper color looked inticing. Friuty taste with a smoooth aftertaste, not quite the norm as spices go, there is a hint but it is not prevelent.

Batch number 7, aged at least a year.

A pleasing, chill-hazed amber, with a thick cake of head that whizzed back from the dead with only half a swirl.
Just a little bit corky, but nothing too overpowering, which gives it a nice, woody touch. It mingled well with the generous hops. Then followed subdued alcohol, and sour orange peels.
Mid to low carbonation, the yeasty spices shine a bit more in the palate. Again some orange zest, and firm malt sweetness comparable to peach and papaya sugars. Decent hop finish gives the aftertaste a feeling of unripe fruits, apples mostly.
