| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 4, 2005 750ml Batch 10 Bottle: Cork popping leaves an interesting pattern on my ceiling; Spicy coriander and flowery hop aroma and a bit medicinal; honey and light fruit (apple, pear) notes; cloudy body and not alot of lacing in a clean glass; sweet, woody and yeasty, slightly dry finish and an oily, smooth palate, peppery spiciness that’s not too much; very good, but lacks some complexity one would expect in a Grand Cru; well balanced and not too spiced for me. It has plenty of flavor and charactor without the alcoholic strength, which is just fine. JoshuaB (422), Detroit, Michigan, USA

Aroma is lots of spicy yeast mixed with some fruit sweetness and anise. Taste is a lot of yeast, mixed with some pepper notes, nutmeg, and some other spices. Vanilla is also present in the fisnih. Nice malt backbone. Nice complexity. A good beer for a cold night. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA

I picked up some vanilla and toffee in the taste which I liked. Very nice palate with orange and vanilla. I’m glad I still have the rest of the bottle to finish. Seems to get more fruit and spice undertones as the bottle wears on. Could finish a tad cleaner. Really enjoy the complexity. Overall an excellent brew. Brad (364), Berkley, Michigan, USA

Flavor is fruit spice with a powerful alcohol bite at first, but it does mellow to showcase some very nice yeast spice. Thick and velvety mouthfeel. SuIIy (1427), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
