Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA Jun 29, 2004 Belgian tasting night. Potent, sweet, little malty faint hops. Little smokey and Iots of spice. Haven’t detected any licorice or fruit. This is a very good Belgian. Allagash is another brewery that hasn’t disappointed. Very nice and a beer you should try. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2004 Pours a nice copper color, with a big off-white head and great lacing. Aroma of malt, fruit, hops, cabernet, pine, nuts, and berries. Tastes malty, fruity, with some hops, fruit, berries, cabernet, and caramel at the finish. Very complex. Allagash has continued to impress the hell out of me. I’d love to drink one of these with a fresh lobster sandwich...perhaps next summer. pobenohne (504), Northern Liberties, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 14, 2004 12 oz bottle. 1 appearance point ding for the screw-off cap. Full bodied ale that went down just fine on a cool Spring afternoon. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jun 4, 2004 Deep, hazy golden with minimal head formation. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, and yeast. Flavor is nice, some sweet malts with a nice spice overtone. Sweet, dry finish. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 31, 2004 Medium mahogony color with a very small off-white head. Aromas of spice, fruits, sugars and malts. Spicy tasting with some sweetness. Easy to drink. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA May 27, 2004 spicy easy drinking, brown pour color. this is a nice beer. sampled at the brewery, but then drank again on my porch (where the rating comes from). the brewery kept their beers at around 40 degees?? mine sampled at around 55. much better. smokey and spicy flavor that blends together well. good easy drinking beer, i really liked this one- probably the best brew from this brewery ive had to date. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA May 26, 2004 Looked like orange soda in the glass. Fruity and spicy scent with plenty of citrus flavor. Well carbonated. A nice dessert beer. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark May 21, 2004 Fruity and spicey aroma. It reminds me a little of Jacobite ale. However this is sweeter and more easy to drink. Extremely pleasant and extremely refreshing.
