COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Grand Cru is deep golden in color, and has a firm yet refined malty palate. Taste and aroma have suggestions of smoke and licorice, with subtle hints of fruit and spice. An excellent beer to enjoy during the cooler seasons.

Sweet caramel malts in aroma and taste form a pretty strong base. Herbal spice and pepper on the nose, but not quite so strong on the palate.

Spicy flavors, very well balanced, deep amber in color, soft lacy white head, medium bodied, excellent seasonal beer

Darker golden color and smoothier taste than I expected.

Bountiful coriander and orange peel aroma emanating from the brownish body. Lots of spice in the body, coriander maybe even some nutmeg. Alcohol is very well hidden and the finish is dry and hoppy. A delectable mix of flavors, but I think this beer would be better suited in the Spice/Herb/Vegetable category.

Nice sweet caramel aroma. After it warmed a little it gave off a fruity, sweet, slightly bitter aroma. It had a complex flavor...a blend of orange, caramel, malt, bitterness, sugary, peppery tones. Very enjoyable brew.

Ruby amber colour, hazy. Lots of carbonation, white head, lots of lace. Coriander, fruit, spice nose. Very smooth, medium bodied, coriander and cardamon all the way, peppery bite, but stays sweet and smooth til the end. Like venom says, there definately is a powdery feel to the body. Very nice, terribly drinkable and warming.

Hazy copper color. Slight head that fades pretty quick leaving a little lace.Citrusy, spicey nose, coriander?Citrus flavor orangey.Above average mouthfeel. Gettin some toasted malt aromas as it warms up.Feels kinda silky on the tongue.Carbonation is just right. Good brew!

Re-Rate 11/14/02 I got a TON more ginger/cinnamon/cardamomin the flavor of this years batch. The body is a bit thinner than i remembered. No as much fruit either. Still quite good. Dark body. Huge head with decent retention. Just a fantastic aroma. Flavor starts out very fruity and full then finishes dry and long with a bit of peppar. Excellant.

Reddish orange brown color. Spices are mellow and nice. Unique beer, I haven’t had anything quite like this. Crisp, medium bodied, spicy fruit grape-like taste. Hops in the finish.

Batch #2: I found this to be very nice. Nice tart fruit flavors of granny smith apples, grape and dark fruit. Also a fair amount of spice complement nicely. Very nice.
