Commercial Description:
Allagash Grand Cru is deep golden in color, and has a firm yet refined malty palate. Taste and aroma have suggestions of smoke and licorice, with subtle hints of fruit and spice. An excellent beer to enjoy during the cooler seasons.

Batch #15. Poured with a camel color head, hazy golden amber, nice lacing. Nose of sweet light banana bread, yeasty with a hint of spice. Wasn’t sweet as it smelled, but had more spicy, slight smokey, buttery and malty goodness.

Pours very nicely. Aroma is sweet. Appearance is perfectly dark brown with a thin lacey head. Mouthfeel is smooth and sweet. Lasting after taste of malts. Flavor is full of carbinated malts. Overall a good beer thats worth a try.

Hazy golden color with fluffy white head. Aroma of apple, pumpkin and spices. Full body crisp tangy palate. Taste of apple and pices with a dry slightly sour finish.

Bottle. Really interesting aroma comes across like a combination of a Belgian sour and a strong fruit beer. Cloudy, thin head, strange orangish-red color. The taste is quite unique...pomegranates, strawberries, pepper, cinnamon, bread, and yeast. Somehow with all this going on, it still finishes cleanly, doesn’t leave that sticky sweet feeling that fruit beers often do, and is quite refreshing for a heavy-bodied beer. Nicely done, Allagash!

pours an amber color with an off white head. Very nice aroma, very cirtus and fruit smell to it. nice subtle smoky mild bitter finish, the flavor is more of a sweet fruit. I really enjoyed this, as i do alot of the allagash beers. I actually passed out drunk half way through the beer and it was left open in my fridge for 2 days, and it actually tasted pretty good even then.

Pours an opaque strawberry orange with 1/2 inch, very dense and luxurious cream head. Very earthy, dusty nose, strong hints of peach and rock candy; magnificent mouthfeel, like drinking fresh cream (like all the allagash beers I’ve tried) with tastes of chardonnay grapes, lemongrass, peppery hops, astringent bitterness, and long lasting buttery diacetyl. The best of the Allagash belgian beers.

Pours a hazy amber with a rapidly dissipating beige head. Sweet candiy nose. Drier in the mouth than I expected. Hints of dark fruit and candy are complimented well by a nice bitterness. Long slightly sweet finish.

Hazy golden color. Very bubbly. Fruity spicy taste. Fruity aroma with presence of alcohol aroma. Tasty.
