Nose of sweet light banana bread, yeasty with a hint of spice. Wasn’t sweet as it smelled, but had more spicy, slight smokey, buttery and malty goodness. rmussman (906), California, USA

Really interesting aroma comes across like a combination of a Belgian sour and a strong fruit beer. Cloudy, thin head, strange orangish-red color. The taste is quite unique...pomegranates, strawberries, pepper, cinnamon, bread, and yeast. Somehow with all this going on, it still finishes cleanly, doesn’t leave that sticky sweet feeling that fruit beers often do, and is quite refreshing for a heavy-bodied beer. Nicely done, Allagash! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 15, 2007 pours an amber color with an off white head. Very nice aroma, very cirtus and fruit smell to it. nice subtle smoky mild bitter finish, the flavor is more of a sweet fruit. I really enjoyed this, as i do alot of the allagash beers. I actually passed out drunk half way through the beer and it was left open in my fridge for 2 days, and it actually tasted pretty good even then. ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2007 Pours an opaque strawberry orange with 1/2 inch, very dense and luxurious cream head. Very earthy, dusty nose, strong hints of peach and rock candy; magnificent mouthfeel, like drinking fresh cream (like all the allagash beers I’ve tried) with tastes of chardonnay grapes, lemongrass, peppery hops, astringent bitterness, and long lasting buttery diacetyl. The best of the Allagash belgian beers. ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA

Drier in the mouth than I expected. Hints of dark fruit and candy are complimented well by a nice bitterness. Long slightly sweet finish. dlovell2 (146), Columbia, Maryland, USA
