| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Appearance: Pours a light aubrun with a lasting fluffy tan head.
Aroma: Fruity spicy yeast, candi sugar, brown sugar and cloves.
Taste: Candi sugar, clove, spicy hop, spicy malt. Came off a bit boozy as well.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy and thick.
Overall: Reminded me of many Unibroue beers. There are many other Allagash beers I enjoy more, and don’t mind paying $5.00 more for their fancier stuff madmitch76 (619), , Essex, England

Gentle fruit and mild spice dominate a very mild malt base. Very drinkable. hisskirt (5), California, USA does not count | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Beautiful beige head, lovely lace that lasts & lasts, gorgeous dark gold color. In a tulip glass, the peaches aroma is promisng. But the rest of the beer doesn’t live up to its nice start. Too much carbonation for its supposed style, rough alcohol that overwhelms any flavors. It’s just not complex - all alcohol and malt. It looks plausibly Belgian, but lacks all the real Belgian characteristics. The best you can say is that lace is very nice. I won’t repurchase - it’s only $2 less than a really beautiful real Belgian ale anyway. walrussell (113), , Illinois, USA

Opaque orange with fine floaties, no head. The flavor is of peaches and raisins. Lasting lemon grass finish. Alcohol is not evident. rds (226), USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Pours a murky golden color with an almost grainy looking texture - can’t tell if it’s heavy bubbles, or are there little bits of sediment in it? Smell is heavy and sweet. The taste has an immediate sour tang that overwhelms the tongue and dissipates into a dark, nutty fruitiness. Malty and seems pretty viscous. It’s interesting, and it has a whole lotta complexity, but it’s not something I’d go for too often.
