Oct 8, 2009 Great beer that exceeded all my expectations. The bret is so strong and pungent it overtakes the beer, but there are lots of complex flavors of green apples and some light spices or nutmeg, smoke, and cinnamon. Great beer that goes down wet and smooth for it’s large ABV.

Oct 6, 2009 750ml bottle (January ’07 Vintage)-Opened and it was a gusher that eventually slowed down and poured a clear orangish amber with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of slight sour, oak, citrus, and Brett. Taste of the same with the brett becoming nore promient and a little spicy. This medium bodied brew is darn tasty and fairly well balanced.

Oct 3, 2009 Updated: Oct 4, 2009Pours a gorgeous hazy orange marmalade color with a medium ivory head. Aroma is very nice; a little sour, very fruity, mildly spicy, with vinous notes. Flavor is initially just spicy and a little smoky, then opens up a little in the middle with fruit element. Ashy finish. Soft, velvety mouthfeel. I can dig this pretty easily. Overall, very good.

Sep 12, 2009 Quite a heavy start to my third day at GBBF 09. Interesting ale aged in oak barrels. Poured form gravicask revealing a slightly unclear, dark orange content in my one-third pint glass. Delicious aroma of dark and dried fruits. Tart, dried fruity flavour mixed with yeast and moderate alcohol heating. Vinous textured. Solidly bodied (USA & Rest of the World Bar, bsf, 06.08.2009).

Sep 2, 2009 2007 vintage. pours a rich amber/copper with a medium white head. aroma is big sour apples, some citrus, hay. drinks dry with sour fruits and apple with a funky wet hay. finishes really dry and sour with a crisp fruit lingering. really tasty stuff

Pours a cloudy light golden amber color with a thin white head that quickly fades and some visible bubbly carbonation. Aroma is funky with lots of sour oak, with some dark cherry, strawberry, vanilla and hop notes. Very funkt and tart oaky flavor with plenty of hops and crisp apple and strawberry fruit flavor. Nice balanced and very quaffable. Excellent.
