Commercial Description:
Interlude- somewhere between the leap and the landing. It’s a jazz solo, the riffing, the unexpected improvisation. Rooted in a Belgian theme, Interlude soars from a second fermentation with our own Brettanomyces yeast. Then takes five in French oak wine barrels that once cellared fine Merlots and Sirahs. And then bottle conditioning. In all, an outrageous effort to make a bottle of beer. But then, if you prefer to swing with magnificent red wine notes and funky farmhouse flavors dancing in the undercurrents of a crisp, remarkable brew, then Interlude has that thing. C’est le gout, toujours! It’s the taste that is always an adventure.

Pours a cloudy, glowing orange with a light white head. Smells lightly sour and acidic. Some orange citrus and other fruits arrive in the air too. Kind of a sweet sour. Tastes kind of jumps at you, sour but more funky than bitter. Fills the palate with a sweet orange acidity. Really refreshing and could drink this beer alot. Another awesome Allagash offering. These guys really know what they are doing.

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage 2007. Pours a little hazy orange with a thin film head. Aroma has caramel and a distinct sourness. Flavour has half a second of sweetness, then an acidic sourness takes over - actually very poor.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Unclear orange - white head. Apple, pear, fruity, flowery, winegrapes, licorice, yeasty, light acid, wheat. It sounds strange - but is actually very good.

2006 bottle. The aroma is really just full of overwhelming oak. Hell, the flavor is also for that matter. The brett tart/acidicness made me kringe with every drink. Very difficult to swallow. Dry finish. I really didn’t enjoy this as much as I wished for the price.

Bottle @ Copenhagen Øl Festival. Average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair lacing. Cloudy orange color. Aroma of citrus, yeast, caramel and very fruity notes. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light hint of alcoholic texture. Flavor was sweet with some acidic. Acidic sweet finish.
