Commercial Description:
Interlude- somewhere between the leap and the landing. It’s a jazz solo, the riffing, the unexpected improvisation. Rooted in a Belgian theme, Interlude soars from a second fermentation with our own Brettanomyces yeast. Then takes five in French oak wine barrels that once cellared fine Merlots and Sirahs. And then bottle conditioning. In all, an outrageous effort to make a bottle of beer. But then, if you prefer to swing with magnificent red wine notes and funky farmhouse flavors dancing in the undercurrents of a crisp, remarkable brew, then Interlude has that thing. C’est le gout, toujours! It’s the taste that is always an adventure.

Bottle @ Copenhagen Øl Festival. Average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished. Fair lacing. Cloudy orange color. Aroma of citrus, yeast, caramel and very fruity notes. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and light hint of alcoholic texture. Flavor was sweet with some acidic. Acidic sweet finish.

A Sim rate (Bottle at Ølfestival): Smells like a cross between a lambic and a cider. A most bizzare aroma. Taste is just as strange. There is definite apple in there, pear and wheat. Tangy finish. Hazy chunky amber colour. Nice one.

Ølfestival 2007. Bottled. Pours a hazy dark orange with a small light, diminishing, head. Light sweetness with a moderate acidity and a hint of vinegar. Average yeastyness. Also has aromas of apples and wood with hints of funghi and vinegar. Soft carbonation. Short bitter finish. I suppose I need to try this one again, should I get the chance.

Thick beautiful golden amber with creamy white head. Good buttery palate. Very sweet candy aroma. Taste relatively straight forward - candy, caramel, and lingering wine tastes with a somewhat dry finish. A very good beer.

Hazy yellow/golden colour with a thin white head. Very tart and sour to the nose. White wine-ish character with spice and coconut.

Bottle, Olfestival. Pours a lovely hazy golden color, with a medium white head. Aroma is quite tart, bit hoppy, fruity, cask wood, cheesy. Slight sour taste, bit citrus, cheese. Something in between a gueuze and a saison. Bit dry palate. Great stuff.

750ml 2006 bottle. aged 6-9mns. pours cler amber-gold with white head. nose has sweet pear, white wine, brett, pepper, and sorta musty. flavor has nice brett, pear, slightly sweet with caramels, subtle white wine finish, slightly fizzy. alcohol is well hidden. finishes a little too sweet and not crisp enough. sorta wish this was more like 5-7%abv. very tasty though.4.1.

1/20/08, 2006 vintage, aged about 18 months. this really isn’t a brett bomb and the wine notes seems to have aged out a bit. subtle sweetness throughout, dry funky, subtle, and balanced. fun to drink, tasty, but i’m not sure how special this really is. 4.0.
