This is my favorite Allagash beer. Pours a cloudy orange color with a big bubbled roustabout head. Amazing think about this beer is that it has just about every aroma and flavor in the book. The version I had was called Kriek Interlude and had the requisite cherry infusion. Lots of tannins and wine flavors to boot. Complex with some tripel characteristics, this one is hard to taxify. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2007 2006. Gold in color to the point of being orange, slightly hazy, lots of fat bubbles rising through the body, and a bone-white head that colladsed quickly. Nose is definite Brett...lots of bubblegum but somewhat unidimensional in that sense. Flavor has the Brettanomyces overtones of the aroma but with a nice, honey-like malt base and some definite clay-like earthiness not unlike a good red wine that shows its terroir. illinismitty (1795), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Updated: Jan 22, 2007Ross has a little beer boner for this stuff. He found a good deal on it and I got this thing in a trade. So for 700, I thought I would celebrate the Bears NFC Championship with this one. Pours a hazy orange amber with a nice retentive white head with gold hues. Tons of carbonation bubbles stick to the glass. Aroma of yeast, clove, brett, apple, with a little oak in the background. More alcohol comes out in the aroma as it warms. Boy, the texture is very soft and thin, but it works in the beers favor because it allows more flavors to come forward. Organic flavors of yeast, apple, honey, and clove. All of those flavors are balanced by a subtle and pleasant tartness. The soft oak woodiness comes out on the finish, joined by some faint bitterness and a touch of warming alcohol. This is a great beer, and very easy to drink. 2006 bottle. My wife liked this one too. Thanks Ross....dick! murrayswine (101), Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 18, 2007 This is one of the most peculiar yetr amazing beers I have ever had. I read quite a few reviews going into this, and yet I’m still perplexed by this beer.
It poured an overly attractive amber/pumpkin with beautiful a white head and soft steady lacing.
The smell is truffels, champagne, slight alcohol permeate heavily with this beer.
The taste is sweet and sour with grapes, slight honey, mushrooms, wood, like a muscato di’ asti.
This beer is a king in it’s class, absolutely enigmatic and amazing all at the same time. bigbeersrule (58), USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2007 A very delightful sour beer. Very refreshing to drink one. Two would be over the top though. Deep golden color. Huge frothy head. Hard to find out west as it no longer is on the local beer shelves. Saved this bottle for well over a year so it had some time to age. The wild belgian yeast had a good amount of time to do its work. nolankowal (850), Columbus, Ohio, USA
