Big sharp and sour aroma, of hops, pine, wood, yeast and a hint of sweeter malt and caramel. Taste is clean and a little sour, of malt, yeast, hops, caramel, citrus, and wood. Lingering sour sharpness. Very drinkable and tasty. VikingHammer (362), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Bottle, sadly I forgot the vinatage but I’m thingking an 05?, shared with pineypower and his bro Dave, thanks Dean for this gem. Poured a hazy brownish/orange with a large quickly fading white head. Aroma is very nice and very vinous with notes of red adn white grapes, apricots, honey, green apples, wood and booze. Palate is suprisingly nice with a dry finish, medium body and some bubbly carbonation. Flavor is good but not as good as the aroma. Vinous notes dominate with some wood and tropical fruits( apricot, peach, mango). Once again thanks Dean for sharing this one it was really nice. trevor211 (504), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Really interesting brew. Pours a reddish copper color, with a thinnish head. It has a tart aroma - wonderful - with some Brett, some dry red wine (like a merlot... even a cab), some oak, and a tart apple cider. The flavor, though, isn’t nearly as tart - it has a fruity sweetness that dominates the barnyard funk from the Brett. Red wine for sure, and perhaps even a bit of cinnamon. Very, very intriguing. crackedmachine (84), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 28, 2009 The aroma is heavy on the yeast, and quite sour - really nice. The flavor delivers less yeast, with a somewhat fruity oak taste, followed by a slight bitterness. Very good, and a rather remarkable progression from aroma to flavor to finish. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Nose is of oak, red wine, brett, apples, with additional earthy, pear, toast, grape and berries in the flavor. Mouthfeel is medium, with a very tannic and slight acidic and tart aspect. A very tannic, plum like character is added to an otherwise light and refreshing ale by the wine barrels. Very unique ale. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 17, 2009 2007 Bottle courtesy of RCL in a trade. Pours with a hazy golden orange body with a fluffy white head that fades but leaves good lacing. Aroma is strong of brett with hints of oak barrel and red wine, tartness, earthiness and a bit of spiciness and alcohol. Taste is much lighter on the brett than the aroma. A bit of earthiness and sweetness. Oak, fruit and diacetyl. Fizzy and dry, well made but quite expensive beer.
