4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 20/20
Bottle, 2007, 9.5% at KØ07. Acidic and vinous aroma. Hazy dark orange colour. Small white head. The flavour is not as acidic as suggested by the aroma, but nice with some earth. Peppery aftertaste. Actually well-balanced in my opinion.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Unclear orange - white head. Apple, pear, fruity, flowery, winegrapes, licorice, yeasty, light acid, wheat. It sounds strange - but is actually very good.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
5th April 2009
Hazy brown beer. Light dry palate. Well balanced beer. There is a sour element and a some wood that provides modest vanilla. These two things balance each other perfectly. Not particularly compex but very drinkable.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
At GBBF 2009. Hazy brown gold, interesting rih sweet brown sugar aroma. That’s awful. Cereal, vinegar and way too strong.. Badly constructed with none of the elements harmonising.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled at Københavnske Øldage. Golden-orange beer with an off-white head. Sourness, sweetness and spices on the nose. The flavor is sweet and spiced with a little sourness. Quite sticky and sweet and warming in the mouth. Nice fusion of sourness and sweetness. (070511)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2008 (750ml bottle, courtesy of Lumpy) Pours a cloudy burnt orange body with a moderate beige head. Aroma of apple cider vinegar, citrus, and vinous. Flavor of apple, citrus, alcohol, and oak. Does not have the farmhouse qualities that I expect in a Belgian-style.

A bit murky amber color, not much head. Sour grapefruit nose. Very tart, grapefruit, lime, some strawberries too. Intensive beer. Nice alcoholic, a bit sweet, tart and hoppy aftertaste.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2008 (2/23/08, 750ml bottle, 2005 vintage) Given how much as my wife and I loved this beer the first time we tried it, I had to acquire another bottle from that initial batch, which we let sit for far too long (even though part of the delay was due to Kathy getting pregnant and then being a nursing mother). Aroma is medium sweet, the brett is stronger than the wine now, but there’s still some pear/cabernet sauvignon, together with some tropical fruit, funk, light lemon. Taste is mild sweet, oaky white wine, some Brett, berry, tropical fruit. Some alcohol warming in the finish. Medium-full body with some syrup, light acidity. With the disappearance of the red wine characteristics, my appreciation of this beer is sadly diminished. Nevertheless, it still is a lovely beer. (8/4/7/4/15)
(2/4/06, 750ml bottle, 2005 vintage) Cloudy golden body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, vinous (grape, plum, some cherry, light tannins), light duskiness. Taste is medium sweet, vinous (merlot), some oak, brettanomyces, dusky, white grape. Very fruity, and the brett imparts a white wine characteristic. Medium body, some effervescence. Truly a fusion of beer and wine -- unique just how much the wine qualities are imparted in this beer, well beyond what a wine cask can provide. (9/3/8/4/17)
