Commercial Description:
Interlude- somewhere between the leap and the landing. It’s a jazz solo, the riffing, the unexpected improvisation. Rooted in a Belgian theme, Interlude soars from a second fermentation with our own Brettanomyces yeast. Then takes five in French oak wine barrels that once cellared fine Merlots and Sirahs. And then bottle conditioning. In all, an outrageous effort to make a bottle of beer. But then, if you prefer to swing with magnificent red wine notes and funky farmhouse flavors dancing in the undercurrents of a crisp, remarkable brew, then Interlude has that thing. C’est le gout, toujours! It’s the taste that is always an adventure.

A jazz solo that I listened to intently and found initially off key followed by poor timbre then somewhat pleasant and then ultimately making me think the piece was beyond the range of the individual. To each their own, but I find the most pleasant aspects of brett seem to be dumbfounded by higher ABV.

Rating #500!!! Pours cloudy yellow/orange, with a small, white head. Aromas are slightly sour malt, yeast, wine, and lemon. Slightly sour, with lemon/citrus fruit, yeast, and smaller amounts of wood and wine. Medium body, with nice carbonation. Another very good Allagash release.

Hazy dark golden color with a beige head. Fruity aroma. Flavor of grapefruit and hops. Pretty tangy and good.

Slightly tart and very complex aroma: delicately sweet and filled with fruits, especially strawberries and maybe even melons. This reminds me of a nice champagne served with strawberries in the bottomof the glass. The flavor takes a lot of tartness from the type of yeast, and the wine-like qualities are obvious. A heavy, rich BSA, warming and spicy.

2005 - Deep dark golden body with a big white head; Big nose, very nice aromas, lots of brett, lots of oak, lots of warm unfiltered apple juice, lots of orange juice and peel; Big body, elegant with soft carbonation, complex and balanced; Super long finish with tons of aroma and character, warmer notes aroma wise and actually quite a bit of oaky cow. Amazing beer. Thanks jjpm74!

Draft at the Blind Tiger. Dark orange pour. Aroma is mainly oaky and malty, with some spices. The flavor is composed of significantly strong malt, caramel, sweet dark fruit, oak, and with a slightly tart finish like red wine. Good, but not exactly what I expected.

2008 bottle. Oh man. This is a lovely reddish ale with just a touch of sour. Wine-ish taste. Cherry lingers. Sugar candy in the background. Lots of oak. Fantastic.
