Commercial Description:
Interlude- somewhere between the leap and the landing. It’s a jazz solo, the riffing, the unexpected improvisation. Rooted in a Belgian theme, Interlude soars from a second fermentation with our own Brettanomyces yeast. Then takes five in French oak wine barrels that once cellared fine Merlots and Sirahs. And then bottle conditioning. In all, an outrageous effort to make a bottle of beer. But then, if you prefer to swing with magnificent red wine notes and funky farmhouse flavors dancing in the undercurrents of a crisp, remarkable brew, then Interlude has that thing. C’est le gout, toujours! It’s the taste that is always an adventure.

Vintage 2006. Poured in a goblet, aroma hits you from across the room, no need to stick you nose in the glass on this one! Big fruit, spice and brett on the nose. Flavor was cidery, they must have used a but load of sugar in this one, also oak, red wine, barnyard funk, brett, finishes dry. I liked this one, thought I found that the strong cider flavor took away from this beer.

Cloudy amber pour. Acidic aroma similar to cider vinegar, note of orange zest. A midly sweet flavour coasts as it finishies with a warm note.

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage 2007. Unclear orange - white head. Apple, pear, fruity, flowery, winegrapes, licorice, yeasty, light acid, wheat. It sounds strange - but is actually very good.

Pours a cloudy amber color with a decent size white head. Aromas of sweet fruits, oak, and some alcohol. Sweet to bitter. Light to medium bodied. Would not buy again due to its $23 price tag. But overall a nice beer.

The color was a hazy, amber/orange. The head was creamy. white, and thin. The aroma was sour, citrisy, and light fruit. The flavor was sour, alcohol, sweet, and aged fruit. The palate was carbonated. The finish was tart and long-lasting.

Pours cloudy amber with an off white, mostly diminishing head. Slighlty sour wine flavors.

2007 bottle courtesy of drewbeerme. Pours a hazy amber-orange with a thin off-white skin. The nose is a sour/sweet citrus and sour cherries with a bit of yeasty funk. Medium-bodied with assertive, active carbonation and a dry, sour finish. Neutral to slightly acidic citrus and lightly bretty funk with a dry slightly oaky finish. An inventive brew; it didn’t blow me away, but I did enjoy it. Thanks for the bottle, Andrew.
