4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. The pour was a clear reddish copper orange with a small (less than 1 finger) white fizzy head that diminished quickly into a thin layer of residue that lasted throughout and produced some excellent sticky lacing.
The aroma had a Farmhouse funkiness to it, with a sweaty grain malt, some wild yeast and had notes of sour grapes, red wine and a nice woody oak.
The taste was sweetly acidic, quite tart and very fruity right off and then became sweetly sour with a strong wine characteristic and a hint of wood at the end. The flavor stayed with you for a nice long time after the swallow, allowing for a nice sour grape finish.
Mouthfeel was right in the middle of light and medium in body and very dry in texture, like a nice Merlot with a fizzy carbonation.
Overall a very unique tasting strong ale, one like I have never tasted in the past, but definitely plan to do so again in the future.

2014 vintage. Pours a hazed orange color with a small white head. Aromas of wine and funk, some apple. Taste is semi sweet and lightly sour, some funk. Flavors of tart green apple, wine barrel, some sweaty brett. Finish is semi sweet and gently tart. Decent.

2015.03.29 - Allagash Interlude 2014 - on tap at Always Ron's.
No long review. Drinkable but not my cup of tea. If the dominant taste is from the Brett then I may not be a Brett fan.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

On tap at threes brewing in Brooklyn. Slightly spicy on the nose. Pours a nice dark Amber. Intensely fruity but also sour with a nice finish. Good. A bit overly fruity.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from trade - thanks Blazay. Clear burnt amber in the glass, initially a big white head but doesn’t linger. Funky, estery yeast character coming off it - vinous, leathery, fruity - stone fruit, some raisins. Medium to light carbonation. Flavour is lightly tart, a big hum of honey, some oxidisation evident but not unpleasant, tropical fruit, pineapple, passion fruit but only very lightly, a touch of vanilla. A slightly tannic edge from the wood brings everything to a dry finish. The strength is there in the background but just adds to the beer. Complex and delicious

Corps orangée et son anneau de mousse. Arômes et saveurs de salade fruitée avec des pêches, des fruits du verger, du fût de vin. Parfaite présence en bouche. Beau corps huileux. Finale sèche tannique. Une belle et grande maîtrise.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 18/20
Strong sour ale with loose, unstable, off-white head and hazy orange colour. Very estery, lightly funky and vinous aroma of lime, redcurrant, sherry, wet hay, tomato, apricot, white wine, leater, tobacco, horseblanket. Very vididly fruity taste, immediately sourish but with sweetness for balance, peach, sour berries, lemon and pineapple suggestions, also lactic acidity (sour cream), smooth caramelly malt basis, bit honeyish, very vinous finish with some warming alcohol, drying acidity and delicious woody tannins. Very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Purchased at Sunset Grill, and consumed at the bar. $9.99 for the 750 mL bottle. To tulip, it pours a light carrot orange with which a fluffy white head 2 fingers in length stood.
From notes: tastes and smells of strawberries, champagne yeast, cotton, sweat, pilsner malt, tangelo meat, and young oak. Medium-bodied. A bite of acidity experienced by swallow.
