COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
On July 8, 2013, Team BeerAdvocate ventured to Portland, Maine to brew the official Belgian Beer Fest beer at Allagash Brewing Company. In keeping with our tradition of creating two unique beers out of one, the base beer was brewed with a 2-row blend, raw and malted wheat and oats, hopped with a blend of Northern Brewer, Nelson Sauvin and Glacier hops and 100% fermented in Portuguese Douro wine barrels. Jumeau (French for "Twin") is a light golden colored ale fermented with Brettanomyces Drei yeast. The finished beer has an earthy aroma with hints of bread crust. The flavor has a citrus rind character in the finish with a dry, light body.

Draft at blind tiger with Andy, max, slander and Dennis. Pours a lightly hazy golden body with no head. Aroma is faint dusty funk and light bright sour fruit. Dusty basement. Mouthfeel is light fruity with notes of funk, light grain, champagne and light fishbowl - kind of a turn off yea?

Sample draft from Raleigh Rare beer fest: Not as good as tweeling. Just not high on my list with my palate right now.

Tap at rrbf. This was pretty similar to the Tweeling, perhaps with a bit more funk from the added 3f brett yeast culture added. Very dry, light citrus and pineapple. This type of Belgian Ale is one of my favorite styles these days so I could not be happier to drink these. WIsh my liver had been in a bit better shape (10 hours of drinking the day before) so I could have drank more beer at this fest.

Lukaduke (2317) - Portland, Maine, USA - DEC 3, 2013
Draft at Nosh. Pours a medium golden color with a finger of white gaseous foam. The nose is funky barnyard, floral hops, citrus and a cracker like malt. The palate follows the nose with a nice balance of funky brett, musky barrel and slightly tropical hops... a bit of a floral soapy quality that adds some strangeness but still remains a tasty brew.

Pouring at NotF in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Soft herbal notes. Musk, light sweetness. Soft spicy musk, long toast and yeast into the finish.
