JoeMcPhee (3628), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Dec 2, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep orange amber pour with a thick tight-laced white head. Burnished hazy appearance. Aroma is great. Loaded with tart citric fruitiness, cranberries, cherries, and other berryish fruitiness. A soft bit of brett, but it’s just a suggestion of horseblanket. Flavour is sweet and grapey, showing vineous red grapes and a light earthy funk. A fresh citric acidity in the nose. Soft oakiness, but is well-integrated. A bit of raspberry and cherry fruitiness. Soft sweetness through the middle that I feel will dry out over the next six months or so. Light caramel flavour. Lingering waves of both fruity sweetness and citric tartness. Excellent brew. MaxxDaddy (207), New York, New York, USA Dec 2, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger. Cloudy orange pour with moderately sized head. Aroma was very nice; plenty tart and funky, and some fruitiness which I guess must’ve been the cherries. Sadly, the taste didn’t quite live up to the aroma; brett funkiness, but not sour, vague fruit notes and slightly prickly on the palate. Finish was slightly sour. A good beer, but had higher hopes. golubj (945), Redwood City, California, USA Dec 1, 2007 Draft at the Blind Tiger. Opaque orange pour with thin white head. Aroma was slightly tart (cherries?), with some spices and alcohol. The flavor is very malty and sweet but with some tartness (perhaps cherry). I found this beer to be full of flavor, both sweet and sour, and quite enjoyable. puzzl (1627), New York, New York, USA Nov 30, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger. Rich tart aroma, light sour, a little oak and the slightest touch of cherry in the finish. I may just be saying that though because it says it has cherry and I was straining to find them. A little thin in the flavor with light brett and sour finish that is a bit dead. The front has a little blueberry. Tasty but falls a little short. notalush (1967), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Nov 29, 2007 Tap at Blind Tiger - had high hopes for this one - very hazy golden beer, with a substantial, foamy head - sour, acidic aroma, with a sort of tart white grape quality (not getting any cherries) - highly acidic flavor, with moderate sourness, but none of the expected wild or funky qualities one expects from lambic yeast - there is a slight hint of some funk way in the back that will probably get much stronger with time (but I mean a lot of time) - in brief, sour without being complex - I picked up light rubber/band-aid/phenolics in the background - the acidity becomes pretty hard to palate as the beer warms, but it really jolts the salivary glands - some lingering fruit skins in the finish - too young, but I do see some potential for greatness.
