On tap at Publick House in Boston. Pours dark amber with minimal light tan head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, and whisky. Really nice taste. The flavor has real complexity, with notes of chocolate and dark fruits in addition to the caramel and whisky. The whisky is present throughout, but adds to, rather than dominates the flavor. Warming alcohol on the finish. Excellent offering.

Murky red brown body. Crappy fruity, malty and dyeasty aroma. Yoghurty taste with an aggressive something that might be bitterness but I can’t decypher it. Ok fruity maltiness. A respectable beer but I really didn’t dig it.

Jul 14, 2008 750ml bottle via an old school trade with beachbum25. Pour a clear mohogany color with a 1 finger off white dome. Black cherry, plum and other dark fruits on the nose as well as some baking spices. Oak, dark fruits, clove on the palate, a medium-full finish.

Jul 10, 2008 Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is wood, lots of nectar, some pine and also a bit leathery and berryish notes. Flavour is fruits, spices, herbs, some berries, yeast and mild leatheryness in the background.
