3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Glass at Publican during CBC Chicago. Pours a hazy glowing bright golden orange with a fine fizzy white head. Strong orange aroma, citrus, candied wheat, and brett aroma. Tastes more like an imperial wit, lots of citrus but just a bit boozy. Medium bodied with a candied like stickiness. Nice and tasty but just too boozy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line:
This coniferous Wild Ale benefits from biscuity cereals and delicate fruity esters for a dry and classy glass of merriment.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy pale blond. Is this really paler than "My Brother Daryl" or are my eyes deceiving me?
-This was less aromatic than the clausenii version (My Brother Daryl), but the brettanomyces bruxellensis still shone brightly from aroma to finish.
-The fruitiness was slightly tropical, but not nearly as tropical as the clausenii, of course.
-A little lactobacillus would have been great in the finish, methinks, but as is it is still a wonderful sipper of a strong ale.

Tap. Pour is dark brown with a light pink hue and almost no head. Aroma is woody, sweet, and fruity with notes of brett poking through. Flavor reveals hints of wine, dark fruits, light spice, and a really notable wood component. Maybe too much wood; it kind of dominates. Overall I like it though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at publican... Medium cloudy caramel brown with a thin frothy tan head... Red fruity apple aroma with wood accents, pretty oaky... Flavors start off oF on a fruity red fruit slab sour apple bent, which converge with spicy wood notes with a lively yet dry finish with a bit of earth at the end.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft on tap at Publican (Chicago, IL). Pours a hazy golden amber pour, murkly with decent whitish head that dies to a thicker film. Aromas are a decent sourness, citrus fruit, pale malts, lacto, a touch of fruity citrus. Initial is lighter bodied, citrus fruit, a light tartness of grapefruit and lemon, coats, with moderate sourness. Moves towards fruity citrus and pale malts, a nice brett funk with a decent body, the funk coats with a nice fruity sourness. Solid, isnít overwheling or asserts itself, but a nice light sour, drinkable en masse. A decent hopping shows more citrus influence. Finish is lightly sour, fruity, lingers on the palate. A lighter bodied sour ale that is quite drinkable, tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample @ BBF Night of the Funk. Pours a light gold (not as hazy as the My Brother Daryl) with a fluffy white head. Nose is biscuit malt, with a bit of funk and a heavy Belgian yeast note. Flavor is biscuit malt with a bit of light fruit and a heavy Belgian yeast characteristic that conflicts at times with the brett sourness that wants to come out. Finish was surprisingly bitter. Not as good as My Brother, but still solid.

Pours a very cloudy golden color with a big white head. Aroma is pineapple, citrus, sourness, and a little horseblanket. Flavors are citrusy again the pineapple like flavor, but also a hint of sourness, and sweetness. Like itís brother it has a smooth mouthfeel although itís a little more cloying than itís brother.
