Commercial Description:
Late this year we plan to release a second beer in the Barrel Aged series... a dark, 10% wheat beer. We have been aging a portion of the beer in New American Medium Toast Oak, and a portion in Stainless steel. We will then blend the beers to taste, and bottle condition. The beer will have spent over 6 months aging in the oak and steel at the brewery!

Pours a deep chestnut colour with an airy tan head with good retention and decent lacing. The nose is typical of oak-aged dark Belgian Strongs, with candied red fruits, fig, roasted malts, oak, but unique to this Belgian, is the element of smoke. The flavour, to my absolute shock and pleasure, packed the roasted intense maltiness and smokiness of an imperial stout in the finish, while candied fruits, caramel and port-like flavours dominated up front. The oakiness from the barrel really adds a nice element of complexity an char. The bitterness from the roasted malt and hops is perfectly suited and the combination of flavours that cross style boudaries. The body is full, though it’s still airy and effervescent like a good Belgian Strong should be. Epic brew from a brewery that never dissapoints.

This is one of the most amazing BSA’s ever, but it has the body and intensity of a imperial stout. The nose is carmel like and it has some spice. I never want the flavor to end, it has light and dark fruits with toffee and this foamy carbonated finish that kills you with mocha and chocolate. The booze is well masked with the exploding flavor and hoppy bite that stings your tounge like a bee. I personally like the oak and mild smokey finish that sticks to your palate. AMAZING!!

A very typical Belgian aroma hits you when you open the bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small head. Flavor is accented by the oak. Very mellow and deceptively easy to drink. Really good.

Draught. Pours a very hazy dark brown, no head. Nose is vanilla, very oaky, bit nutty, some brown sugar. Taste is again big on the wood, with a dark, butty, slightly bready malt body, some brown sugar, a bit of a vinous note from the wood aging, and a hefty vanilla and oak note on the finish. Moderately light carbonation, medium bodied.

dark and wheaty, somewhat toasty in nature, slightly sweet but very mellow. Enjoyed.

A dark, strong dunkel like ale. This is a really well balanced, complex, malt influenced ale. There is a slight bitterness and vanilla from the barrel, notes of cherries, toffee, chocolate, coffee, prunes, earth, pine and roast. This beer is warm and finishes rather rich and creamy.
