Feb 7, 2006 A red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity combined with some notes of pine needles and hints of smoke, while the flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruit, caramel, and alcohol. Nice.

Clear dark brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, berry, cask wood - oak, smoke, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20090806]

Aug 13, 2009 Cask@GBBF2009. Deep amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, mild smoke, some wood as well as spices. Also some mild herbal and alcoholic notes. Flavour is liquorice, caramel, sugar, maplesyrup, smoke, some plum and mild spicy and alcohlic notes as well.

May 26, 2008 Updated: Oct 16, 2008Chestnut brown, slight haze. Thin caramel head. Oaky, toasty and chewy, with rich dark fruit notes. There’s a slightly smokey, chocolate note in there. Soft, smokey, chocolatey body with some woody dryness and alcoholic firmness. Complex, distinctive.
