Go Allagash. Excellent sour/wild ale almost on par with Russian River Supplication. On tap at TnD. Cherry, funk, basement. Strong sour flavor and mild/moderate sweetness. Lively, crisp body. A bit of unpleasant acidity on the trailing taste is the only flaw in my opinion. Very nice.

On tap at Monkís Cafe.

A: Clear mahogany body with a dense white head.

S: Sour cherries with some sweetness coming through.

T: Mild sour cherries and slight vinegar.

M: Medium bodied with light fizzy carbonation.

O: This is a very mild sour, Allagash knows how to get people into sours.

This beer was shared by muskabeatz, thanks Evan! This beer pours a light bodied cherry red in color, looking very similar to Founders Cerise. The nose is nice and tart. It is full of spicy cherry. Itís intriguing. The flavors instantly stimulate your palate. It features mellow cherry with a nice tartness. It also has a yeasty mustiness to it that is different. Itís almost like a musty Kriek. It drinks light and slightly tart with nice cherry characteristics. I like it. The nose brings me back in every time. Overall this is a nice sour. If this were available I would make sure to snag at least a few bottles.

Bottle share with my buddy Blake and his wife Gina (both sour heads). Pours a nice light brown/reddish color with very minimal head. Good carbonation shown with the pop of the top. Aroma is slightly funky with hints of a good sour time. Flavor isnít super tart or funky but somewhere in the middle. Not a bad showing here.

Sampled at the mekong beers gone wild tasting. Pretty much what you would expect. Tart aroma and flavor and just a pleasant blend of cherry. Not fake. Not merichino. Just wonderfully balanced.

On draft at Monkís Cafe. The pour was orange-ruby colored (much lighter than anything brown) with a nice initial head that thinned quickly. The aroma was tart cherries, some bret. The flavor followed, tart was tame but present, finishing each sip with a little zing. Dusty aftertaste. The mouthfeel was light, moderate carbonation. A nice sour if you like the drinkable ones vs. those that give you the: puckerup and pretend you enjoy the whole glass even though the hair stands up all over your body for up to an hour afterwards.

Beautiful copper color and a thin white head. Nice cherry/funk aroma and that perfect sour hit to the palate. Pair this with mussels (or cook the mussels in the beer)... Perfection. Once again, Allagash nails a sour ale.

12 oz. bottle

Appearance: Pours a bright copper with absolutely no head.

Aroma: Classic kriek. Cherry pie, funk. Swimming pool.

Taste: Sharp cheesy yeast, tart cherry, ever so slightky toasted malt. Alcohol well masked.

Mouthfeel: Thin side of medium. High carbonation. Puckering.

Overall: This was tasty, and not alcoholic at all for being 8%. I think I liked this better than the two cherry Coolships.

Bottle from hbmason...thanks Tim! - Pours rosy amber with lots of cascading bubbles up to a thin foamy light tan head. Nice tart cherry nose, SweetTarts, metal, light dry malt, funky Bretty yeast with just a hint of plastic. Taste has a bit more plastic, with a dry, bitter tart malt, muted dry cherries, a bit of mineral, and a long bitter finish. Lots of carbonation, and really puckering. A little too bitter for my tastes, but this was still worth a drink.
