4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Stags Head. Poured a light amber with a medium fluffy white head and excellent lacing. Aroma includes grass, slight Brett funk, oak, and sour cherries. Taste begins with earthiness and funk of yeast followed by well-balanced tart and sweet cherry flavors and a hint of vanilla. Wonderful fizzy carbonation produces a great mouthfeel and flavors linger on the palate long after each sip. Tame, very drinkable sour.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cloudy apricot orange pour, fluffy white head. Thanks to LtDan for the share! Good guy. Aroma is sour, some citrus sourness, lemons, sour cherries and unripe stone fruit. Flavor is certainly sour, cherries, yeasty funk, light vinegary notes. Pretty damn nice stuff!!

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the Pour House in Westmont, NJ.
Pours a hazy dark amber/copper color with a one finger frothy off-white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Earthy, funky aroma with good lactic funk, oaky barnyard/musty horse blanket character. Also a but vinous with dark fruit, musty, funky bugs and earthy oak. Strong acetic solvent quality appears when it warns. Smells similar to real lambic.
Medium bodied with a strong puckering, sour mouthfeel. Very tart with strong lactic funk and acetic solvent character. A bit too stron in the acetone character but has nice sourness and funk along with dry earthy oak and subtle vinous fruit. Kind of one dimensional with only subtle flavors balancing out the funk and strong solvent presence.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
375mL thanks to LtDan. Pouring at RBSG Grand Tasting LA. Pours a full haze orange. Acid cut. Caramel nose with sweet, cherry pit and cherry pie. Rich with ripe phenols/tannins. Taste is tangy, sharp, just a tad medicinal. Very light lemon pulp, citric sourness. Palate is bubbly, seltzer. Pretty good still.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12.7oz bottle picked up at the brewery in Portland, ME. Bottled in November 2011. Pours a murky, orange-amber colored body with a thin, fizzy, beige head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is dry brett and dusty funk with a moderate cherry tartness. The cherries give off just a slight sweetness as well. A very light biscuit malt behind the funk and cherries with some acidity and earth. Flavor is similar. Dry brett, dusty yeast funk, and a slight earthiness up front before some cherries come in with a moderate tartness and a touch of sweetness. Again, a very light biscuity malt backing comes in towards the end with some acidity and a bit of a floral fruitiness. Finishes very dry and bretty with lots of dusty funk and a moderate cherry tartness. Some earthiness as well before leaving a medium length aftertaste and a slight alcohol warmth. Light body and a somewhat fizzy carbonation. Overall, I was expecting more, but this wasn’t bad. Not overly complex IMO with more dusty funk and dry brett than cherry tartness. A slight malt note behind everything with a light body and a nice dryness. Glad to have tried.

Go Allagash. Excellent sour/wild ale almost on par with Russian River Supplication. On tap at TnD. Cherry, funk, basement. Strong sour flavor and mild/moderate sweetness. Lively, crisp body. A bit of unpleasant acidity on the trailing taste is the only flaw in my opinion. Very nice.

This beer was shared by muskabeatz, thanks Evan!
This beer pours a light bodied cherry red in color, looking very similar to Founders Cerise. The nose is nice and tart. It is full of spicy cherry. It’s intriguing. The flavors instantly stimulate your palate. It features mellow cherry with a nice tartness. It also has a yeasty mustiness to it that is different. It’s almost like a musty Kriek. It drinks light and slightly tart with nice cherry characteristics. I like it. The nose brings me back in every time. Overall this is a nice sour. If this were available I would make sure to snag at least a few bottles.
