3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso.
Pours somewhat cloudy with tons of visible carbonation. Color is a pinkish-red with a bit of a copper hue to it. Think head of fizzy pink-tinged bubbles that go away fairly quickly, leaving a thin collar.
The nose has a light fruity presence. Red fruit, to be a bit more specific. As it is served, it is hard to pick out anything specifically. Some lactic character behind that along with a bit of earthy funk.
The flavor is quite nice. It starts out with a hefty hit of fresh, tart raspberries, following that up with some additional acidity. Lactic all the way with some from the fruit. Nothing acetic. Pretty good Brett character. Seems like Brett B and L, though Allagash claims to have a house Brett, so who knows.
Bottle is light with carbonation that is quite lively. Effervescent to say the least. Dry finish, with a moderate level of acidity hanging onto the palate for just a bit, yet itís not bracing to the point where I feel like I need to rest between sips.
Overall, this is really quite nice and Iím glad that I stopped in for it. The fruit and acidity are extremely well balanced and the beer itself is very drinkable. Highly recommended. Now I need to find a bottle of this.

Bottle sampled at Muckfest III. Clear amber pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of nuts, cardboard, malt and tart cherries. Cherry flavor with malty accents and some nuttiness before a sour finish.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
375ml corked bottle shared by Madvike. Hazy/murky orange-red. Big off-white head, lasts. Mineral cherry pit aroma. Delicate malt background, pleasant cherry flavor, light sour edge very well incorporated. Really natural taste, quite delicious and clean. Tasty, well executed, a medium bodied Kriek that avoids being cloying.

bottle share at hill farmsteadís harvest festival. hazy amber, some floaters, with a decent off-white head and retention. cherries, wood, brett - some funk indeed, yeasty, light acidity, light toastiness and a some sweetness, never cloying. floral and citrusy - light but fairly present hopping. average to soft carbonation, light ot medium body, decent herbal-citrusy and earthy finish. not a big beer, not really a sour, but enjoyed it!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
10 ounce pour - $6.00 at Leonís Full Service in Decatur, Georgia as part of their Allagash Takeover event.
Appearance: Hazed, amber-esque body with a smallish, ivory-hued head fed by little streams of bubbles.
Smell: A moderate aroma of tartish whole cherries forward of the faintly sweet-scented, toasty malts and thin wafts of phenols.
Taste: Tastes of, well, cherries, as one might imagine. Some toasted bread and muddled caramel maltiness. Lightly sweet, lightly spicy. Brightly tart and with modest lactic touches popping up here and there. Drying, well-carbonated finish with lingering tart cherries accents.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Old HLT is a likable cherry brew. I was going to liken it to a more lively carbonated Quelque Chose, but, itís been nearly eight long years since I last had it, and, with all the many brain cells Iíve outright killed since then, perhaps I should leave the comparison alone.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ a recent tasting... Poured reddish/brown with a moderate forming off-white head. Sour and tart with a dense cherry character that offered balance and sweetness to tartness. Mild mouthfeel, unobtrusive body that allowed the cherry fruits and sourness to shine along with some malt tones.

12.7oz bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy ruby/amber with an off-white head. Aroma of very light tartness, cherries, some pale and light caramel malts, and some light fruitiness. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A cool beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at my sick ass Allagash event. Jealous? Should be....
Pours a soft and clean light peach amber with two fingers of creamy eggshell white head. The nose is nice, soft fruits and cherry with a hint of acidity and very slight chalky/vitaminy character. Very very slight wild character. A very nice acidity in the flavor, mostly front of the mouth and it is quick to go. Bright cherry notes in the background, by no means dominant. Some light fruity esters provide support.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Samís in Durham. I ordered a glass for $7 and didnít realize they were going to pour me a huge ass glass. I was trying to go in and out of the store. oh well. This was pretty good. Dark reddish, black cherry color, with a large foamy off-white head. Notes of sour black cherry, earthy, yeasty funk. A little muddled and watery when compared to the big boys.
