Amber with big. flotsam, off-white head / Delicate nose of bread, malt, and spice / Light to medium body, smooth and a touch malty, soft carbonation, with great balance and moderately dry, bitter finish / Elegant flavors of bread, straw, lemongrass, juniper berries, honey, and grain spice / A lovely spring/summer ale.

Acquired a glass of this at Three Penny Taproom. This IS the finest Allagash beer I’ve ever had. Simply amazing and so very drinkable. Here’s the review:

Poured into an Allagash Glass on Draft. Paid $8 USD

A - Light hazy with a solid leather body. 1-finger head that had a light tan apperance

S - Lots of dark fruits like figs and raisins. Vanilla, brown sugar and bread. Very alive.

T - Raisins and Maple Syrup, Lemons and Juniper berries

M - Medium Bodied, medium carbonation

O - This beer is so drinkable, so tasty and so well balanced with the dark fruits, juniper berries and sweet syrup hints. It’s absolutely delicious!

A nice Saison, a style I’m learning to just love more and more and something I need to brew soon. The honey in this beer is the star in my opinion. It doesn’t come through to much but what is there is really nice. Mix in the sweetness, grassiness, and spiciness and you have a really nice enjoyable brew.

Draft courtesy of BeerandBlues2, thank you sir! Aroma of slightly sour butterscotch. Taste is caramel, butterscotch. Nice!

32oz Growler from Beverage World. Served at around 45F.

Pours cloudy dark amber with orange highlights under light. A good off-white head that leaves some nice foamy rings of lacing and recedes to a light foamy cap and ring.

Aroma is nice and complex with a lot of fruit notes featuring apples, pears, banana, kiwi, cherries, the juniper berries are very much present, also some honey, herbal notes, hay, grass. Good to very good strength.

Flavor follows suit, juniper is strong, particularly towards the end, pears, cherries, apples, banana, kiwi, a fair bit of herbal notes and honey, a little alcohol on the finish. Mostly dry, but there is some lingering honey and fruity sweetness as well.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a bit sticky, oily, good carbonation.

Saisons are a style that I don’t normally go for, but this is one of the better examples I’ve had to date. Overall impression is fruit and juniper, with a good supporting cast underneath. Really enjoyable!

Tap at Max’s. Pours lightly hazy amber with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, cereal and straw malt with light spicy hops and pepper. Flavor is malt dominant with light hops and bitterness, fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth and carbonation.

Tap at Toro SD. Clear medium dark amber with a creamy, well-retainef off-white head. Allagash yeast and lemongrass dominate, light pepper and alcohol follow. Flavor is the same with a hint of juniper, alcohol present in the flavor but completely masked in terms of the burn. A little toasty. Dry finish, bitterneds at a 3 and lightly earthy. Medium body with smooth creamy carbonation. Not a saison in my book, but a good Belgian ale.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria tap ($9): Pours a reddish color with a small, but nice head. Aroma is saison yeast, so you get plenty of spice, fruitiness, and grassiness. Basically, there is a bit of the funk. Mouthfeel is pretty excellent. It feels like it is a lighter saison than it really is, which is a certain plus. Some sweetness from the honey methinks. There are also some hops in there, but this is definitely not an American styled hoppy saison. The juniper and stuff adds nice touches with additional complexity. Quite nice.

tastes like it’s description and it does a good job. The berries give a nice piney taste that i enjoy with some juicy flowery sweetness and the bitter point of the pinecone flavors. moderate light grainy mouthfeel served nice and cold. lemon grass wafts in and out. with some nice toasted white bread for a little balance. quite nice

Sweet toffee and herbal hop nose with soft dusty yeast and light pear. Very Biere de garde like. Soft malts, light honey and apple, light herbs. BdG in my opinion, and a nice one at that. As a saison though it would disappoint.
