COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse style. It is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-Row blend, malted rye, oats and dark Belgian candi sugar. It was hopped with Tettnang, Bravo and Cascade hops. Fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain, this beer exhibits notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and a peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for a pleasant malt character. Saison is full bodied with a remarkably dry finish.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2014 Orange like citrus and pepper on the nose. Hazy yellow appearance with a fluffy whit head. Flavor has citrus notes upfront with a lot of pepper phenols. Slightly acidic per style. Mouthfeel is medium body with a med-high level of carbonation. Overall, it’s an ok saison. . . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not sure how I’ve never rated this before. On tap at Liberty Hound in Buffalo, NY. Solid beer, as expected....light golden color, crisp, little bit of yeast and spice. Pretty much exactly what you’d think...a nice take on an American saison.

Light golden in color. Aromas of lemon, and grass. Flavors of lemon and grass with floral elements and a bit creamy. Fairly smooth on the palate.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy pale gold color. Small creamy white head. Lemon peel and yeast nose. Tart citrus malt upfront with peppery notes. Spicy hops are balanced by the complex fruity, yeasty malt. Crisp dry finish. Nice clinging lace. A wonderful example of the Saison Farmhouse style. Kudos to Allagash.

Appearaance was clear yellow straw-like with white fizzy diminishing 1 finger head, spotty lacing. Aromas are citrus, clove, spicy rye and peppery yeasts. Taste are lemon, soft grapefruit, hints of pepper, clove and pils sweetness. Palate was soft creamy CO2 with light-medium body, then average length soft drying balanced finish. Overall a wonderful Saison, try it.

Golden color with white head. Aroma of nice fresh funk, some spices, lemons, some more sweeter fruits. Taste has that typical cookie-dough-biscuit feeling. Some esters, a bit boozy, peppery finish with some bitterness. A silky mouthfeel, more like a good Kellerbier in that respect. A very nice Saison, albeit not on the crisp side and more delicate. Great balance.

Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast and citrus. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long dry, yeasty and peppery finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 12oz. An unclear, dark orange-golden beer with a small, white head. The aroma is citrusy and lightly piney, with a touch of pale malts in the back. There’s also a faint peppery, yeasty hint. The flavor is quite bitter, it’s dry and nicely carbonated, medium to full-bodied. There’s a faint grass note, some pepper and yeast and a little maltyness in the back. The finish is slightly more peppery, and overall, this is sure a nice beer, easy drinkable and quenching. 150610
