COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse style. It is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-Row blend, malted rye, oats and dark Belgian candi sugar. It was hopped with Tettnang, Bravo and Cascade hops. Fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain, this beer exhibits notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and a peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for a pleasant malt character. Saison is full bodied with a remarkably dry finish.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2014 Orange like citrus and pepper on the nose. Hazy yellow appearance with a fluffy whit head. Flavor has citrus notes upfront with a lot of pepper phenols. Slightly acidic per style. Mouthfeel is medium body with a med-high level of carbonation. Overall, it’s an ok saison. . . ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4-pack bottles. Pretty straightforward saison, in a time where they are often the source for experimentation among US breweries. Straw colored, lightly fizzy. Fruity and peppery yeast flavors, but no barnyard or funk. Hops dry it out at the end. Light and easy-drinking.

2016/03/12 - Pours a hazy, yellow-straw with a thick, soapy white head that quickly reduces to a lingering film that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet bread, citrus (lime, tangerine, lemon), yeast, banana esters, coriander, candi sugar and lightly floral hops. Taste is yeast, citrus, lightly floral hops, spices and pepper. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with biting carbonation and a sharp, dry finish. Simple and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Allagash. This is a great, traditional interpretation of a great, traditional style. The malt character is surprisingly full, with some wheat and oat (and rye, apparently) flavors, and the yeast strain is classic saison esters of peppers and spices. Solid, tasty, and really good.
