UPDATED: SEP 21, 2011 A hazed blonde ale with a thin creamy white head. In aroma, nice citrusy malt with honey, like sweet Halls candies. In mouth, a beautiful grassy citrusy hops, lingering, crisp malt. Beautiful quaffer. On tap at Belgian Beer Fest, Sept 10 2011.

Tap at Max’s. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is biscuit and straw malt, earthy and grassy hops with fruity esters. Flavor is malt forward with medium hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Light body and warmth with medium carbonation.

Pouring at session one of Belgian Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft hay, musky yeast, wheat on the nose. Wheat, big earthy musk, light dry brett. Toast and funk on a relatively dry finish. Very nice.

Draft. Pours blonde with a white head. Zesty lemony aroma with Belgian yeast and a hint of coriander. The flavor has Belgian yeast, lemon, bright flowery hops, and coriander. Refreshing.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Yeast aromas. Sweet bread and hay upfront turning hoppy in the lasting finish.

10 ounce pour - $6.00 at Leon’s Full Service in Decatur, Georgia as part of their Allagash Takeover event.

Appearance: Bronze-colored beverage, hazed, with a two-inch cap of whitish sea foam-like suds.

Smell: Touches of citrus fruits and dried cilantro atop notes of soft, bready malts and store-bought sugar cookies.

Taste: Light, bready malts, a bit doughy, too, with a surprisingly robust cookie crumb sweetness. Grapefruit and lemon citrus tones. Earthy herbal qualities. Light phenolic undertone. Citrusy, semi-dry finish with a meager, lingering spiciness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation.

Overall: I found it to be a nice, lively, low-ABV beer.

Draft at Maloney’s. Poured a slightly hazy gold/orange with a large fluffy bright white head. Aroma of wet bread and metal. Perfect carbonation on a medium body with a slight creamy feel. Flavor is like the aroma with wet bread and copper. Bleh, Big Little kicks this beers ass.

Draught at Carrboro Beverage Company. Thanks for the large sample! This is my kind of beer. A light, hoppy, belgian pale ale. I could drink this all day. Earthy, nice bitterness, good stuff.

Orange flesh and lemon zest aroma. Cloudy yellow, medium head, good lacing. Dry lemon zest flavor, but sweeter toward the end. Light bodied and well hopped. Pretty simple, but tasty. I would have never guessed Allagash made it as it doesn’t taste remotely like anything else they make.
