3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly murky reddish copper pour. Floral and estery nose with some peppery notes and a lightly spicy quality with notes of rose petal and pineapple. Did not care for the mouthfeel or flavor. Very bitter and tannic. Some esters show through, slightly fruity.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Tyler’s, Raleigh. Kind of a dingy, rust-colored pour. Very minimal carbonation, body looks a bit oily. Certainly get a dose of the candi sugars in the nose, like Christmas cookie plus Belgian yeast. Flavors are somewhat more balanced, with plenty of dry notes in there to even things out a bit. But overall, less than impressive from this usually strong brewery.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled at the First Innaugural Raliegh Rare and Vintage Beer Festival. This was one of my least favorites of the tasting. Poured a murky golden copper hue with fair khaki head. Sweet and a ’green’ hop character on the nose. Main flavor notes of honey, candi sugar, and an extreme bitterness on the finish. Not really impressed.

On tap, poured a reddish orange color, small to med head and lacing. Aromas of candy sugar, dark fruits, belgian grapey quad notes, Taste was very earthy hops, funky yeast, honey, and coriander spice. Layered in flavors, smooth, and posessed a long lasting aftertaste in the mouth. Very good Belgian ale.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The aroma is weak, caramel, cereal grains. The appearance is an amber color, white head. The flavor is cereal grains, light caramel sweetness. The finish is cereal grains, light sourness of wheat. Medium in body. Ok, a little boring.

Draught from el tigre. Poured a middlign brown, a bit watery and not all of the rich dark fruits you’d expect from the style. Not bad, not amazing.
