Tiarna is a blend of two beers, one aged in oak and fermented with 100% brettanomyces and the other fermented in stainless with a blend of two Belgian yeast strains. Both beers were brewed with a combination of 2 row and wheat malt in addition to specialty grains. It was hopped with Hallertau, Styrian Goldings and Cascade hops.

A beautiful bright opaque yellow with a generous head. Aroma is so nice, really jumps out of the glass, lemon, grapefruit, fruity, and a little like an old, dusty bookshelf. Faintly tart, funky. Big and juicy feel. Really great beer.

Bottle @ home. Hazed golden pour with white foam. Fruity, almost tropical aroma. Lots of berry and grape as well. An almost sticky floral/blossom note to it, too. Light earth and library funk. Flavor is pleasantly tart and fruity. Some pineapple and orange juice. Decent lemon, white grape, and a hint of stone fruit. Some dusty funk, yeast, and wood. Pretty enjoyable beer, which isn’t something I typically say about these Allagash sour beers.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2015 375mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose brings out lovely notes of brett, along with Belgian yeast, light cereal sweetness and oak -- very complex aromatics. Flavour is along the same lines, with equal parts of brett and regular Belgian yeast that imparts a touch of sweetness, with low-to-moderate funk and cereal notes. Very high carbonation that is slightly too high, though not overly detracting. Complex and well-designed. Excellent stuff.

From notes, bottle from the brewery. Pours hazy amber with a huge white head that leaves some lacing. Flavor notes of grape, lightly sour, brett funk-horse barns-kinda nice, light body, thin texture, average to lively carbo and a brief lightly bitter finish.

Pours murky gold with beautiful white head that sticks for awhile. Aroma is definitely tart grapes, very bretty, oranges and musty oak. Taste is bretty tartness right off the bat, which transitions into grapefruit and oakiness, dry finish. Great beer. Bottled 2013

Bottle at Proletariat. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Big funky acid on the nose, barrel and a touch of sweetness. Lots of fruity notes, apricot , strawberry, cherry. Medium bodied, sweet and fuzzy, dusty hops peeking through. Touches of bitterness on the finish. Funkiness from the nose vanishes and turns sweet in the body. Tart on the finish. Could use a little more funk in the body. Lovely.

Tasted on 12/5/14 from a corked and caged 375mL bottle purchased at Ales Unlimited. Pours hazy light orange with a thick, smooth white head that slowly recedes to thick, even lace. The nose is all brett funk with some caramelized orange peel malt, a touch of spicy, old world hops, and a bit of vanilla oak. The flavor is the same, very dry, tons of brett, the same spicy hops, a touch of nutty vanilla oak, and the same caramelized orange peel malt. The body is nearly full with average, but very smooth carbonation and a long funky somewhat nutty vanilla oak finish. This is really quite good.

bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks brah! pours unclear bright yellow with a small reviving white cap leaving nice lacing. white wine, delicious bugs - fruity and leathery bretts upfront, floral citrus, dill, spicy yeastiness, juicy flavors, clean wood, slightly douhy pale maltiness, touch of wheat, hint of tartness - by bretts and usual suspects, bitter herbs. lively to average carbonation, light body, dry grassy-oaky-bretty-citrusy finish. solid assemblage - excellent balance, juiciness and flora.
