Bottle at Monks. Golden straw pour with a large lasting foamy white head. Very nice dry sour. Tons of great oak flavors. No funk. Yellow plums. Kiwi. Slight buttery biscuits. Pretty much as pure a dry oak sour as I have ever found.

Serving: 375 ml. bottle. It pours a hazy light gold color with a tight white head of foam. Fruity, funky nose. Nice bright tartness with notes of hay, grapefruit rind, and dried apple skins. Bone dry on the finish with slight mineral notes. Quite nice.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a golden color with a huge thick and billowy head of white foam. The head has fantastic retention, very slowly fading over time to leave tons of streaky lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is heaviest sweet fruity notes with tons of apple giving and almost dry cider like smell to the brew overall. Mixed with the apple is some peach, pineapple, and pear as well as a bit of a grassy and light grainy smell and a good showing of sour lemon. An oaky smell and some hay like aromas mix with the rest giving it an overall funky but sorta fruity aroma. Taste – The taste begins with a crisp with a good showing of a funk and grass right from the start. Upfront there is a little bit of light fruit sweetness with the fruit being as would be expected from the nose. These sweeter flavors fade quite a bit however as the taste advances with some light yeast and a rather strong grassy and herbal flavor taking the sweet’s place. With some moderately strong lemongrass and even more grassy and hay like funk coming to the tongue at the end one is left with a slightly dry and rather heavily funky tart and sour flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is light with a carbonation level that is rather effervescent. The mix of lighter body and high carbonation are great for the drier and tart flavors of the brew making for a moderately easier drink in light of its somewhat funked, and tart taste overall. Overall – A decently funky and sour with just a hint of malt and fruit to back it up. A very nice wild, but there are certainly better ones out there for the rather hefty price paid for a 375 ml bottle.

Yea this is awesome and underrated. Nicely funky and Hoppy like James brown in a dunk contest. Grapefruit hops mixed with bratty funk and musty basement. Drinkable and tart on the finish.

Bottle. I think the guy who rated this before me was slightly wasted while rating, or maybe its just me. Pours out a pale golden color with lots of carbonation and a small white head. Intense aroma of floral notes, funky/sweet/tart brett, light grapes, oak. Taste is complex, funky floral notes, light plastic brett, sweet/tart grapes, light bandaid and some mild bitterness. Like this one.
