| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 20, 2007 Caged corked 750 ml. bottle, Batch #90, short blurb and serving suggestions along the left side of front label, sampled in a wide mouth wine glass.
Cloudy bottle conditioned appearance, lush golden orange color, frothy, dense white head, good retention, fair amount of laced sticking.
An appealing nose, tropical fruits, honey and subtle banana, medicinal herbs that mesh with the estery alcohol. Everything is pretty much as advertised.
The airy carbonation helps lighten the feel of the medium body, making this a smooth pleasant sipper, well rounded in the palate. Begins with warm spicy alcohol mildly stinging the tongue, followed by honey grains and candied sugar. The alcohol keeps it’s warmth through out the taste. Tart tropical fruits in the middle, the yeast turns an earthy spice in the end. Finishes dry, pale grains and earthy, fruity yeast, along with a palate cleansing effect from the spicy alcohol.
This is a delightfully complex tripel from Allagash, I wish this was regularly available in my area.

This beer was nothing less than what I expected. Pours a beautiful dark golden color with very little head. Aroma was not strong and overpowering, but you definitely get some sweet floral/fruity notes. Flavor is a beautiful sweet blend of fruits and honey. Strong presence on your palate. Excellent complex brew.
