Commercial Description:
This golden hued ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with subtle suggestions of banana and honey surfacing from its deep and complex palate. The Tripel's finish is remarkably long and soothing.

Pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy rocky off white head. Aroma is clovey, ripe fruits, grassy, yeast and hints of spice. Initial taste is sweet, apple & heavy clove. Finshing with a banana, yeast and bitter hops on the palate. Palate duration is good, nice lacing of the glass, and good head retention. Sticky mouthfeel.

750, corked and caged. Pours a cloudy and very dark straw color with a towering, foamy platinum blonde head. Rings of sedimentary lace. Soft, sugary nose: fruity, definite pitted tree fruit there of the red variety. Cotton candy as well. Smells suspiciouly like their Grand Cru, in fact. Medium body, soft carb, hides the alcohol well. Has a tart crispness that the Grand Cru gets by without; that would be the primary difference between the two. Not much finish. Not all that exciting a beer.

Caged and corked, batch #97. Poured a nice yellow-tinged orange with a thin but sustained head. The aroma is lightly yeasty and moderately induced with citrus. The drink is musty and earthy with a creamy tone. Banana, yeast, corriander, maybe a hint of ginger, grass, grape cider. Very nice. (#3058, 8/17/2007)

sampled at brookline liquor mart, alchol too strong and overpowed taste and smell, hard to pick up grain notes over fruity tone.

Batch 97 from a 750 ml bottle. pale golden beer, crystal clear with a pillowy white head. Aroma is spicy with a soft apricot fruity sweetness. Slightly earthy on the nose as well with a soft bready maltiness that is quite unusual in this style. Very fruity, especially as it warms, giving off apple, pear, peach, apricot and a hint of banana with a soft wheaty background. There is a soft caramelly sweetness in back along with the bready character. Fruits seems overly ripe and the beer starts to get cloying. This bottle probably could have used another six months on it.
