Commercial Description:
This golden hued ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with subtle suggestions of banana and honey surfacing from its deep and complex palate. The Tripel's finish is remarkably long and soothing.

Bottle.70cl. Batch 95. My first Trippel from the land of faith, hope and charity, and im filled with blind faith, and hope that they will take my hand and walk me in too a new view of the trippel.......... but no.......Sorry. the taste of yeast is a bit out of controle and not in the in the Belgian way, it is the taste of slurry, and not propertyes of the belgiean yeast.

Bottle, 9% at KØ07. Asparagus aroma. Cloudy golden colour. The flavour has a little asparagus, too, but it is still nice. Quite peppery and spicy. Not bad.

Batch # 68 found at the Liquor Depot in CO Springs, CO. and stashed in my cellar for a year or two. Cloudy gold color with massive head. Malt nose with a hint of sweetness and spice and a similar body.

Poured a hazy golden with a billowing white head in a wide-mouthed Trappist glass. Nose was spicy and alive with some doughy malt notes. Palate was absolutely smooth and silk-like. Flavor was many of the best in the tripel style: nice spicy herbal quality, cinnamon, pear, and many more. This brew was so good that it reminded me of the excellence of Allagash. It also reminded me to rate beers that are well made, something I hadn’t done in months. It’s wonderful how eye-opening a solid brew can be.

Batch # 89. Pours a hazy light golden color with a medium white head. The lacing was very thin. There is a very noticable yeasty, malt scent. The flavor is honey, malt and some banana with a clean refreshing finish. Allagash is a solid brewing co.

Cloudy gold with a white head and spicy aroma. Flavor has a good amount of tripel fruitness and spice. Starts quite sweet but finishes dry and yeasty.

750ml. $4.94 Sam’s Downers Grove Batch #94 Allagash Tripel Reserve a hazy golden that turns straw when held to the light. Tiny carbonation bubbles rise quickly to the thin wispy white cap that sits up top. Really not much in the looks department. The aroma makes up for the lack of appearence. Sweet rip peaches and tangerines start things off. Biscuity malts are faint and in the background. Hint’s of candi sugar come forward. There’s a zesty sweet snap in there from the tangerines. Flavor is similiar to the aroma with ripe juicy fruits coming from every direction. Sweet tangerine zestiness up front with a mild dusty yeastiness. Candi sugar and mild alcohol come through mid palate but are quickly overtaken by juicy peaches on the finish. Very nicely done. Lively mouthfeel with prickly carbonation and a zestiness that awakens the tastebuds. Each sip leaves me wanting another. Easy drinker for the abv involved. Refreshing and tasty. A solid offering from Allagash that has that X factor I can’t put my finger on but keep wanting more. Very nicely done. 5/19/07

Bottle in Westmalle glass. Pours hazy orange with a lasting white head but not much lacing. Aroma of sour/tartness like citrusy hops. Sweet initial flavor with pleasant spicy finish Medium-full bodied with excellent creamy mouthfeel and excellent soft carbonation. A very good example of the style worthy of its Belgian counterparts.
