I find the Allagash Tripel Reserve an excellent beer and a rival of of many of the top rated imports. It pours a nice cloudy amber with a big foamy white head. It has a nice crisp spicy flavor with a delicious flavor I don’t find much of an aroma but I don’t think that takes too much away from the beer scania (184), Malmö, Sweden

The cork had a licorice smell to it so I didn’t know what to expect. Pours with a nice fluffy head. Flavor is typical Belgian style, as is aroma. It’s fantastic, but not unique. wxman (585), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Cloudy pale golden color with a thick eggwhite head. Aroma of fruits and spices along with a pleasant sourness. Taste is smooth, crisp, and tart. Yeast and sweet malt flavors are evident as well, all balanced nicely. For a 9% ABV, alcohol is well hidden, except for the post-swallow warmth. This is definately a quality tripel. Certainly better than most imports, and even the domestic Ommegang (which is pretty damn good). Nice job, Allagash! muenster (339), Sevierville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 5, 2007 Updated: Jul 6, 2007My second foray into Allagash territory proves to be quite a wonderful delve into flavor land indeed. I don’t recall the batch number, many drinks followed, perhaps it was 83 or 88? Anyway, pours gold/orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma is wonderful spices, fruits, banana in particular, and yeastiness. Flavor was much the same, but very floral, not in an overtly hoppy way though. The alcohol makes its self known, but only mildly.
