WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 2, 2006 (Bottle) This is a very nice tripel, with a taste that mirrors the beer’s little brother the allagash white, with a nice citrus scent and taste. Moreover the pleseant, not too alcholic after taste lingers, which is very tasty. The cloudy appearance is consistent with the minimal filtering and helps keep the traditional belgian look. Sampled at the Brewery. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2006 Bottle Batch#78. Very pleasing tripel. Really quenches my thirst during these 100 degrees nights! Aroma is fantastic! Slight passion fruit but more of a monstera smell (look it up it’s a great fruit!) Look is perfect - great head, lots of activity, golden color. Very tasty. Can be a bit sweet at times and the alcohol hides well, it really does not show up on the taste. Well balanced with a good mix of carbonation but nothing too heavy. Very smooth finish and leaves the tongue and mouth happy and wanting more. Great tripel! Cheers! StoutCat (81), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 28, 2006 batch 80. orange and hazy pour with fine white head. smells faintly of lemons, with a more predominant floral and spicy aroma. Very pleasant and balanced flavor. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 19, 2006 750 ml bomber. Batch 66. Pours a yellowish, light golden color with a medium sized bubbly white head that turns into a smooth coating rather quickly. Aroma is of banana and spices with a hint of nutmeg and flowers. Taste is a perfect balance of spices which include banana, nutmeg with a hint of honey. Excellent overall and the alcohol is well hidden. Sputerbug (112), Nacogdoches, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2006 750ml bottle batch #68 @ 9%.Pours a hazy amber color with a little foamy white head.A complex spicey fruity aroma. There is no bitterness and a hint of honey with no alcohol taste.A well balanced brew that is a pure pleasure to drink.A true sensory experience.I will be getting more of this brew. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Jul 12, 2006 #39...hazy yellow-orange..low puddle of head...light floral spice whiffs...a change of pace here...very good stuff...a solid BOLD distinct bitterness, kinda peppery...alcohol is very well hidden...deserves its place...not over done ..just pure goodness in glass... lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA Jul 11, 2006 Pours a cloudy golden color with fairly thick head. Aroma of citrus and spice with a bitt of alcohol. Extremely smooth flavor and the alcohol is well hidden. Not too sweet, nor too spicy. Well balanced with a bit of breadiness. jimvy (131), O’Fallon, Missouri, USA Jul 8, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy blonde with a thick, creamy head that is long lasting. Aroma is predominately fruitiness with some underlying spice. Flavor really jumps out at you....more bitterness than I would have expected. There is a fair amount of spicy phenolic flavor. Alcohol is well hidden...there’s not even very much of the flavor I typically get with beers with a lot of candi sugar. Medium body. Overall, a very nice beer....not the best I’ve had of this style, but it’s certainly close.
