Flavor is fruity and estery, with lots of clove and banana. Nots of honey, yeast, and spice, with some earthiness. Full mouthfeel with light carbonation, with a nice earthy finish. Pretty solid for a tripel. NomDeBeer (399), Maryland, USA May 12, 2009 Batch #131. Pours a cloudy amber color with a huge white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy - cloves, alcohol, and maybe a hint of cinnamon. Taste is more cloves, banana, spice, bread-like yeast, and some alcohol. Has a dull, earthy bitterness in the finish. Moderate carbonation, smooth mouth feel. Very drinkable and enjoyable. hayduke (1621), Eureka, California, USA Apr 29, 2009 From a 750 ml c&c bottle from BevMo in Sacramento this poured a orange to gold with a huge white head and great lacing. Nose of caramel malts and and ripe fruit. Nice creamy and smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is rich and well balanced with banana and clove showing. Nice clean dry finish. Excellent. Has a nice aroma of bubble gum, sweet malts, spices, and a touch of hoppiness. Good carbination and a good mouthfeel. Flavor is good with a good balance and a nice blending. Has a medium body. A good solid finish and a nice aftertaste. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA Apr 22, 2009 Bottle, with Alaskanwarren. Thanks Brian! Pale orange/gold, lots of dense off-white head. Fresh green spring smell; sweet peas, black pepper, bubblegum, clove, citrus oil. Dense herbal hop flavor, lots of hop flavor but modest bitterness. Mint, menthol, lingering citrus oil. Cool tropical morning. Unobtrusive but somehow just right malt backbone, with a teeny warming quality, but as soon as it registers it is gone, and then just a sense of lightness of being. Lacing the glass extremely well. Medium bodied on this one. Malts, hops, sweet fruit on the palate. Excellent tripel., especially when you consider that it comes from America. Maintains head. Dry and mild but with reasonably flavorfull esters. A bit overly harsh bitterness on the finish with some lingering off flavors.
