Vagabond is the second offering in our limited 375 ml series. With only 500 bottles made, this beer is from one of the only barrels to move with us into our new brewery three years ago. Aged four years in American oak barrels, it boasts a complex aroma of maple syrup and port, with background notes of marzipan, plum and dill. Flavors of tart, unripened plum and caramel give way to a warming, toasted almond finish. As always...an adventure.

Bottle 375ml.

Clear medium to dark amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, berry - plum, oak. Flavour is heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and moderate bitter with a long duration, deap fruity, tart, wood, cherry. Nice balanced and complex. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. IMO mind clearly a sour/wild !! [20120211]

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of RCL. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Interesting aroma of wood, caramel - and a tart edge. Medium body, lowish carbonation, sweet vanillaish oak, but also a lot of overripe or even rotten fruit. Again this tart edge. Subtle and delicious. 260412

Hazy red-brown beer. Not much of a head. Lovely nose of wood and old Port Wine, whiff of burned caramel. Crisp semi dry palate. Sourish but not a pucker inducer! Old wood. Subtle Tawny Port, caramel and a little herbs. Finishes dry. Complex beer, tasty.

Pours amber in color with a short lived off-white head. Smells just terribly buttery. Lots of diacetyl overall. Butterscotch and maple syrup are also present, maybe some over-ripe fruits. A bit of spicy oak and a light herbal note. The flavor is really no different from the aroma. A bit more oak and herbal character, however. But still a lot of butter, butterscotch, caramel, and maple syrup. Just really odd. Not a fan.
