4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 hallinghansen (1352) - Odense S, - JUL 17, 2011Trade from rgtravers, thanks a million. To celebrate my 30th birthday. Deep clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma is tart berries, oak, plums, caramel, alcohol, port. Wow. Flavor is tart fruit, alcohol, caramel, plums. Medium carbonated. Looks thin in the glas, but surprisingly oily in the mouth. It simply gets better and better. I´d love another bottle. Thanks again Ryan.

Shared by Thorpe429 alongside several other Allagash sour/wild ales. Thank you very much, Mike!
The beer appears a dark, reddish copper hue with a small, fletting head. The aroma brings maple syrup, booze, overly ripe dark fruits, caramel. The flavor follows suit. Complex and tasty. Notes of earth and nuts. Not especially tart or sour. Medium to full bodied with fairly low carbonation. Overall, I enjoyed this and am thankful to have tried it.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 McGrupp612 (138) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 11, 2012
Clear brown/amber pour. No head, nearly flat. Malty aroma with caramel, oak, and a smooth sourness. Flavor follows the aroma. Sweet, malty, oaky and loaded with caramel. The sourness is firm and comes on the finish. Its not overbearing, but more cleansing/refreshing for the palate. Medium to medium full body with no carbonation. Everything was in perfect harmony and this beer worked for me. It was a different sour and much tastier than similar beers (idiots drool, billy the mountain).

Bottle@Home. Wow! What a flavourful and complex beer. Very full aroma, fruity, light tart. Dark brown, light hazy, off-white head, good lace. Sweet, dried dark fruits, sourish, sweet, port. Light alcoholic.

Dark brown body, clean and with off white head. Does have a rich funk but sweetness and raisin as well. Moderate sour with a smooth prickly base, medium sweet. Nice. Long aftertaste, very nice. Thanks Menno/John!

Bottle sampled at Muckfest III. Brown pour with a thin off-white head. Malty and caramelly nose with notes of chocolate, toffee, booze and sourness. Malty and chocolatey flavor with a hint of licorice, along with some bourbon and caramel before a sour finish.

Bottle shared by ogglethorp at Muckfest III...thanks Brian! - Pours brown and clear with no head. Nose has a little bourbon sweetness, honeyed malt, and a little warm heat. It’s a little tart in the taste, with some honey malt, light bread, and yeast. A bit thin and not carbonated. Disappointing.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheAlum (4359) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle shared at MuckFest 3 - Saturday Edition. Pours a richer deep ruby copper hue, some brownish element, good sunset glow, touch of frothy tannish head dies to a tiny ring, laces small. Aromas are touches of sticky toffee and red fruit, touches of tart raspberries, lemons, and gentle bretty funk. Touches of acedic elements, some sticky toffee, caramel, biscuits. Gentle yeasty element. Old ale type essence with some mellow funk. Initial is medium bodied with tart berries, touches of lactic sourness, funky brett pokes in. Some more girthy toffee and biscuit, bready malts and caramel, some sticky element with some prickly carbonation drive brett. Funky cheese, cobwebs, dust with touches of oranges, a gentle heat and prickly bretty funk, dryness pick up into the finish. Not bad, with some lingering sour fruit elements, lemons and touches of raspberry kiss into the finish and linger. Wins me back. Not bad.

24th May 2010 Hazy red-brown beer. Not much of a head. Lovely nose of wood and old Port Wine, whiff of burned caramel. Crisp semi dry palate. Sourish but not a pucker inducer! Old wood. Subtle Tawny Port, caramel and a little herbs. Finishes dry. Complex beer, tasty.
