4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Lukaduke (108) - Portland, Maine, USA - MAY 10, 2012
On draft at Novare Res for Gasharoo... Pours a nice copper color with a two finger white head that laces out beautifully. Bright aromas of fresh grassy hops, mint, a bit of tropical fruit and a hint of sour funky farmhouse notes. The flavors are everything I hoped for floral, bitter, grassy with touches of sour fruit, musk and funky earthy notes that finish off dry.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Scopey (1658) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 28, 2012
Bottle, thanks to thepeter. It pours hazy golden yellow, with a thick, pillowy white head. The nose is tart lemon, grapefruit, very floral, grass, lime and citrus pith. The taste is sour lemon, lime, grapefruit, floral, grass, definite dandelions, white grape and white currant, with a tart, floral finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Alcohol is very well hidden and it’s very well balance. Delicious.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Leighton (4090) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2012
Bottle shared at The Kernel during the Thomas Beer Tasting, London, thanks to Peter. Pours hazy gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma holds fresh grass, flowers and hints of tartness. Medium sweet flavor, big and fresh sourness, grass, dandelions, lemon. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Tangy, grassy finish, some tart fruits, flowers, more lemon. Very fresh overall. Moderate sour character. Drinks at a much lower ABV. Good stuff.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 KickInChalice (771) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 29, 2012
From notes. First reviewed 1/4/2011. Served on tap at Fountainhead in an oversized wine glass.
This pours a lightly hazy, mostly transparent cherry color. A small, soft pillowy white head rests on top and gradually fades to a ring around the rim. Sheets of lace are left to watch the beer recede.
Tart cherries, soft pears, and I think I get some hibiscus, although that is not an aroma I am intimately familiar with. A bit of Brett in the nose as well.
The tartness is more apparent in the flavor than it was in the nose. There is a soft sweet malt to start, but tart green apple skin, and mostly tart cherries really shine through. The Brett shines through in the middle and toward the end, and an earthy character starts to push through. Ultimately, though, the Brett is not too strong, and the tart cherry flavor is pretty nice.
The mouthfeel starts out juicy, turns slightly creamy for a second, and then finally finishes dry. What a voyage for the feel. Medium carbonation and a fuller than medium body.
This is a pretty nice tart beer with some interesting fruit notes, without being outrageously sour, which I think I prefer at this stage in my limited Wild experience.

Pours a hazy orange/gold color with a thin white head. Aroma has a mild sweet/tart note that I’m unfamiliar with...pleasant though...a bit of a soury fruitiness. Flavor has some funk and an odd berry fruitiness that is tart (is that elderberries?)...refreshing and mildly perfumey. Mouthfeel is light and lively and the finish is crisp and dry with a hint of tartness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JulienHuxley (1147) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 16, 2011
Bottle. Very pretty gold pour with a pure white foam, lots of lacing. Aroma is very grassy, lots of earthy notes, funk/lemon sourness, very light fruitiness (currants). Taste is very tannic, grapefruit skin flavors, light acidity, pretty bitter for the style. The dry, tannic palate makes for pretty easy drinking despite the ABV. Strange beer, kind of off style for many styles - well made mix of sour and bitter.
